I’ve noticed the end links are not flush but I
feel it adds to its robustness. Giving it a little more character.... further differentiating itself from the Sub C... That said , I love mine and the way it wears .... |

I really wanted to like the SD4k. I must have tried it on 3-4 times at my AD when they were still in production. It always just felt a bit small for a "larger" dive watch. i ended up never buying one and still preferring the super-case of my LVc. It's an amazing watch though and I agree it could be a future collectible.

It’s my absolute favorite watch. If it becomes collectible, great...but I am not planning to part with it, ever! |

I love my 116600, but you're right. I wish the end links were flush. I wonder why they designed them like that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just the same as they did with the DSSD, the YM and Pearlmaster. In ways it gives a more rounded look to the watch in Plan view and in some ways when viewed in Profile. |

Correct and will only continue to do so. Shortest run in modern rolex history. Much less produced than the 16610LV.
Classic is an understatement. It is the last of the great Sea Dweller lineup. SD43 don't count. Giant submariner. Has no connection whatsoever with past history. |

•This is the first ceramic diver ever to be discontinued,
•This Watch was only produced for 2yrs and 1/2. •This is the only 40mm ceramic diver with tapered lugs. •it’s just a beautiful, classic watch. |

it is a very nice watch looking from the top but not on the side due to the end links "bump"

That was the exact same reasons why I bought the SD4000. I managed to pick one up just after it was discontinued but the watch itself is still wrapped in rolex gift papers as of today. I think I will open it for my birthday this year.

Endlinks are fine. For my first rolex I believe I made a wise choice.

I love mine and always smile when so many people comment on the end links, given that lots of other Rolex's have the same design/look/fitment too. Most of those other types of Rolex's were (individually) produced in much, much greater quantities than the 116600, so it stands to reason that there's a lot "less of us" than there is of "them". If you don't like the end link fitment that's of course your prerogative but why not mention the same issue in other threads about other Rolex models too, try the Platinum Daytona threads for one.

Ditto! SDc seems to be in no mans land... it's neither dramatic enough (e.g., nothing really stands out like the DSSD, SD43, etc), nor "romantic" enough (e.g., no known associations with COMEX anymore unlike its predecessor).
Of course, it might be sought after by those who want the form factor of a modern Submariner without the cyclops (a minority unfortunately), but far from being the most sought after... |
