Perhaps it’s the way u are wearing it?
It looks almost painful, sitting diagonally across ur bone... Lol I m kidding of course. SD43 is not for everyone. But Rolex has a watch for everyone. Glad u found he one u like

Size and weight hardly an issue for me, being 6"3 with nearly 8 inch wrist. MY Royal oaks dwarf the SD43 in weight. Again. Just one guys opinion. And i'd say, i'm pretty sub invested. So its not like they aren't my thing. |

To me they are chalk and cheese.
On the one hand you have a no date lighter and thinner watch. On the other hand you have a tank, but a very lovely tank. I do like a date and the cyclops is very nice when you want to look at the date. However most of the time I don't need to look at the date and on those occasions I prefer it not be present. The thing is you can't have everything all at once When someone finds a solution to that connundrum then we will all have just one watch and all be eternally happy!!! I do find the SD43 wears a little more comfortable when I wear it snug.

I just don’t think people get the size difference of the SD43. (SD4K for reference )

Sorry, But the sd4 is 15.15, SD43 is 17, 18 if you include the cyclops...
I posted this a while back showing both watches. (Just the pics, not the mm)

You’re quoting the thickness for the DeepSea

beautiful watches... what will be your preference for everyday wear..my preference will be the explorer. On the other one I know the bezel tends to loose color or gets scratches, but that probably me only..

I really liked the way the SD43 looked on my wrist this morning at the AD. Wife said it was not my birthday yet (50th). Oh well, it can have a home in my safe for the time being ;)

Should be using a caliper-type to measure the correct mm IMO See post #26 in the same thread

I actually chose the 114060 because it was a bit lower profile and simpler.
I totally agree. I do love - absolutely love the SD4K. |

I bought the SD43 back in May and felt like I was so lucky to just walk into my AD and they had one. But after a couple of weeks it just went back into the safe and wasn’t really in my rotation. I would wear it from time to time but like the thread states I just didn’t “bond” with it. It’s not that I didn’t like it. I actually loved it. The proportions were perfect, new movement, very collectible, hard to get, but for some reason it just wasn’t for me. So I traded it, with the advice of many of you, for a 116619 (smurf) and it was a great decision. I have barely taken it off and absolutely love the hue of the WG. I am a little bummed because I know the SD43 will be very collectible one day but I buy my watches to wear and not for investment potential. I’m glad I’m not the only one that felt this way toward the SD43. I was beginning to think I was a weirdo

SD43 aka 'upsized SD' is not for everyone! I knew this already when it was first launched last year. That's why I quickly grabbed the SD4000 before the price started going crazy. I have been happy with it since.

The sd43 is way more than a splash of writing I would still have it if it was all white writing , its case size lugs and bracelet retired my dssd and subs . The watch is great for me and my wrist the only other Rolex dial that would work for me now would be the exp ii . The ND dial is nice and uncluttered but that’s another debate surely ? Any ND dial has it pro’s n con’s but I wouldn’t pick my ND over my SD
