There is always one. Were you seriously all this time waiting for a two tone GMT rootbeer remake and somehow Rolex foiled your plan. I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't even in the market for a two tone watch. The BLRO bezel would have looked horrible in two tone...blue would have been nice or all black...but guess what, don't buy it. The Skydweller may be a better option for you, Rolex has you covered.
The new GMTs look amazing even though I won't be buying one.

Aa regards to the Platona, please stop...lmao...that's one of the best looking watches Rolex makes.

I like the new brown bezel and I don't think Rolex was trying to recreate the root beer color on this one. To each its own but I think the new brown/black bezeled GMT two tone will be very popular.

Some look at the new GMT and ask why...I look at it and ask why not!

Love it.

I think its a beautiful color combo. And I might catch hell, but I thought the actual rootbeer (which this is not intended to replicate) was ugly as sin.

Granted, it's not a Rolex, but the right brown dial with the right shade of rose gold can be really striking. And--wait a second--yup, it doesn't even smell bad.

that makes sense. Just like I don't think a more golden color bezel will look good with the already rose gold outer ring. Also, I think Rolex intentionally keep GMTII dial black. maybe we will get a chocolate SS or TT Sub..... imaging in my head.. maybe not a good idea.

I think brown is an amazing colour and also think the new Everose GMT is amazing too.
Would love to have one myself. I'd probably wear that dirt coloured thing piece every day and love it!

1) Its not meant be a "Root Beer"

2) Brown is also the colour of chocolate, one of Switzerland's other famous exports.

3) Rose gold and brown (or chocolate as Rolex refer to it) go extremely well together.

4) Its not meant to be a "Root Beer" (in case you missed that)

5) I personally find "Root Beer" GMTs particularly unnatractve, but thats just me, and I'm extremely glad Rolex didn't try and reincarnate that one.

It's because they tried to make the black/red Coke but couldn't do it properly, but managed to get a brown out of it. So they quickly decided to cancel the WG BLRO, release the SS on a whim, and then use the mistakenly developed brown/black for the TT and PM GMTs.

I'm not a fan of the old root beer GMT and really don't understand why people liked it??
I think the new GMT with the everose combo looks great! Wish I could afford it.

I get if you don't like it, but the whole color of mud is a little ridiculous. Just don't buy the thing

So you're complaining that the bezel is brown, because brown is an ugly colour, but you're also complaining that the watch isn't enough like the Root Beer GMT, which had a brown dial?

Guys don't get hung up on the root beer comparison, I know that it is in no way a re-issue or anything of that nature, nor do I care one way or another about the root beer. My point is that brown is the least liked color in the color spectrum, as it always has connotations with things such as mud and sewage. So for Rolex to release a brown bezel is bizarre. Rolex could release a lime green and pale pink bezel and some of you guys would still love it.

A great watch indeed made by Rolex. Fantastic brown colour on the bezel and apparently changes hues and shades nicely from the various photos i have seen.

How do YOU know it is the least liked color on the spectrum? Do you have statistics that substantiate your claim? The more you try to explain yourself, the less credibility you seem to have as a contributing member here. Maybe try to start a more positive themed thread next time instead of bashing a particular watch or color. My2c

Rolex call it chocolat so nothing to do with the previous Rootbeer, and there are many differences.

After all the usual colours, maybe grey is the only one they could use that is not too controversial, but against RG, chocolate def works better, many brands use this modern classic combo now.

I think it looks great. If I’m honest I think it looks better than the Pepsi. I once owned a brown tag carrera and it went with everything. I think they smashed it with this. It’s only the fact I’m not in love with the bigger cases that will stop me getting one.

I also have a feeling that this is as good as It may get for a while in respect of a coke ceramic given getting from black to red will probably be difficult as would red to black without having a hint of brown in there somewhere.
