Both are great, no doubt. I don't have a Sub but do have a GMT LN and the SD43. I'm a big fan of the YM, both the blue dial and the rhodium. Admittedly it's taken some time for the light blue/ turquoise second hand to grow on me. The color by itself I don't care for, but I think it works very well with the rhodium YM.
From reading here I understand the platinum bezel can scratch easily, and those scratches will show up on the shiny bezel. You don't have to worry about that with the Sub. Thus you'll probably want to be more careful with the YM when wearing it. If you don't want to worry about dings and scratches then the Sub is a better choice. Given the watches I have I lean towards the YM, but for a first it's certainly the less often made selection. The best choice of course is get both. |
