It will not make a difference for me. I had one for about 4yrs. Loved the watch but began to have an issue of the thickness. I just couldn't get used to the thickness. I never had an issue about the bracelet. So, regarding the one issue they cannot fix(thickness) because that is what that watch is about, I will still pass on the DSSD.

Third option:

Liked the first one, think I will like the second even though the changes are minor, it is an improvement.

I wore DSSD (Black) daily for several years and had an opportunity to buy a SD43 when I traded in the Black to buy my DSSD-Blue last week.

I actually like the thinner bracelet when I move my wrist, although I did not have the SD43 sized when I tried it.

I like it! It's my favorite of the new releases.

I have owned the DSSD twice and it is a cool watch but in the end I did not like the thin bracelet and even with a large wrist I felt it was top heavy. The text on the bezel ring is also a negative. With the upgrades, I am sure it will help for fit with the bracelet. I purchased a SD43 soon after release and can not say enough good things about it. Between the new DSSD and the SD43, the SD43 works better for me on every level.

Im very interested, but I’ll have to see it before making a decision.

The thinner bracelet on the original never really bothered me, but the end links always did. What Rolex did with the SD43 bracelet and end links, does look much better IMO. The new movement is just a bonus as far as I’m concerned.

Full disclosure I sold my DBlue to a member here as it just wasn’t getting the wrist time any more. I LOVE the dial and it’s a great weekender, but I decided it was better to move on.

I’m looking forward to checking it out at our AD Basel release party

With regard to the shirt cuff issue- Unless you are speaking of a long sleeve pull over I have had no difficulty with the DBlue fitting under any shirt cuff. Even the thinnest of references needs to have the cuff pulled over it when wearing a "fitted" long sleeve pull over.
The new movement is great but not a deal maker or breaker for me. I think I would rather have the original for value sake.

It's a great improvement and corrects a significant flaw in the design, but still can't do the thickness. Love the JC dial however, best Rolex has ever make IMO

Currently have the Deep Sea Blue and also the SD43 so i know what the new bracelet looks like and I don't think it makes a difference. Will stick with what I have.

While it's true, I had the choice of the D Blue or SD43 and my heart was in the latter... The new deepsea would have made that a much more difficult decision.

Yes I’m going to offer mine up against it when I can and see if the endlink fit looks better , for me that would be the first point then the width and lastly the movement

The D-blue dial is one of the best in existence. But the darn thing is just too big for my tastes. Even worn on a 7.5 inch wrist it just feels
Too bulky and thick for me. So even with some of the updates I’m still sitting this one out.

Only reason for me not to get one is the "thickness". It appeared too much for my wrist and heavy. I tried even one last week at an AD and my opinion remains the same.

I just traded my DSSD Black for a DSSD Blue last week, with a option to buy the SD43 at the same time. I stuck with the DSSD-B. No regrets.

I really like the thinner bracelets and as I have a larger/wider, and far lighter, all titanium Reactor Poseidon Limited Edition as my diver back-up. (Its actually a bad-ass watch). The Poseidon makes the DSSD look tiny, but not nearly as refined or as comfortable as the DSSD.

Also, I wear the DSSD almost 24/7 so the new 70 hour reserve is a no-never mind.

So unless they come out with a super cool new face or radical change, I am staying put. Very happy with the out-going model.

can't say it better. Plus more and more harder to find the original version new.

I don't see any issue or difference of the bracelet.
