Both fantastic but BLNR would be my choice for sure.

I went with the rhodium YM. I think this is a matter of style and functionality. Do you prefer a tool watch look, or a dressier piece? Is the GMT functionality of any use for you? It isn't for me, so this choice was easy, especially with those blue accents!

Nice! Love the rhodium dual.

For me personally, the gmt function is useful.. I don’t travel much but I’m a project manager and have developers in a few different time zones. I set my main hands to my current location and the gmt hand to another. Very convenient to be able to look down and see if it’s day or night if I need someone.

I recently made a similar choice as the OP and went BLNR due to that reason.

I found myself with the same question a while back. I tried on the blue dialed YM numerous times, and while I loved it, went with the BLNR for its more classic look, durability and GMT function.

So, if you had to choose, I'd go BLNR. But, if you could get both, I would. They look and wear completely different and won't cause much overlap/redundancy.

I went with the Blue YM. For me though, both are different enough to be in the same collection. The YM case is much smoother than the GMTIIC with “rounded” corners. Plus, the YM is a more comfortable watch and wears a little smaller than the GMTIIC. IMHO, the GMTIIC has more in common with the SubC than the YM.

First choice for me is the BLNR. However I could easily see having both in a collection. The YM is beautiful. Hard to choose between those beauties.

Swapped BLNR to YM Blue

I swapped the BLNR for a YM Blue dial some weeks ago. Did not like the maxi-case on GMT and was drawn to the smaller case + blue dial on YM.

Have no regrets but I do feel I have to be more careful with the YM due to the platinum bezel and that annoys me a little.

I did opposite :) I swapped YM blue for BLNR. YM I bought new, BLNR used, under 1yr old.

I love them both. YM blue is very beautiful and elegand and wears slighly smaller on wrist. Almost like a piece of jewerly. Blue dial is very

BLNR is sportier and wears larger. GMT function is useful. Very beautiful too. I have no regrets but somehow is kinda miss YM blue too. If you can have both, go for it. Only "problem" I had with YM was the bezel. To be more spesific; fear of scraching and hitting it somewhere. I know this is just me but constant fear and feeling to be careful with it, I didn't enjoy as much as I should. And replacing platinum bezel isnt cheap.

BLNR is beautiful, useful and more easy going with ceramic bezel so I think I enjoy it more in daily wear. So now I have BLNR, it's my choice.

BLNR vs. YM Blue

I wear both of them — they are VERY different watches. And compliment each other in a collection.

I tend to gravitate towards the YM - as the blue dial just makes it. But the BLNR is a great reference as well.

If I had to pick one it would be the YM.

I really like the blue face, imagine it on the BLNR!

The YM reminds me of a Tag Heuer, especially with the metal bezel.

The BLNR is a better one-and-only watch, but the YM is a perfect rotational watch. It would look stunning with certain outfits.

If I had to choose one, the BLNR Batman.

But I added a Rhodium YM from the amazing DavidSW a few months ago and love it.

These are two stunners. You can’t go wrong. As many have said, I use the YM bezel timer more than I thought I would. And when traveling, the BLNR is a marvel. It’s also good for overseas conference calls.

Whichever you pick, enjoy it! Perhaps add the other when you can...

If you like the YM over the BLNR then that's perfectly fine. The YM is a handsome watch in its own right. I am though a bit dubious about some of the reasoning, specifically regarding its superiority as a timing device.

The GMT bezel can be used to time things almost as effectively. The difference is simply one of scale. Whilst the numbers on the YM have a 1:1 correspondence with the minute track, each whole number on the GMT bezel accounts for 2.5mins. Sure, it'll take the average adult a couple of seconds to visually align the bezel with the minute hand and do a multiplication of 2.5. If you really need to time stuff with your watch such that the accuracy needs to be better than what you can manage using the GMT then you probably need an alternative to the Yachtmaster too, such as a chronograph.

Lets face it, 99% of people using their watch as a timer are doing so to track the progress of such mundanities as boiling an egg.

Yes, I mis-typed - I meant maxi dial.

BLNR vs. YM Blue

I guess I am supposed to give my opinion on this since I started. I picked up the BLNR NIB in October 2017. I was already stretching my budget as it was. I tried on both watches and felt the BLNR looked better on my wrist. The price difference was too much for me to even consider the YM so I really didn't have much of a choice. If my favorite color was not blue, I would have gone for the LN. The blue was worth the premium for me!

Own BLNR..love it!! Wanted the YM blue before BLNR. Couple things stopped me. 1- resale is not as good 2. The biggest thing was the dial scratches. It would really bother me so decided against it. Some don't care - I am OCD. The YM is beautiful!! It really is a flashy diver which I like. The dial with the red accents does it for me. May get one eventually, but the damn scratch bezel kills me.

YM gets my vote. As others mentioned, it wears really well compared to the maxi case of the BLNR.
