A super nicely finished plat Datograph for $40k, or a steel sports watch for $50k (that used to be $25k).
The problem is, the Journe CB is $22,000 (new) not $40,000 (used).

Really just goes to show the different treatment by FPJ vs many of the big brands. It's a major part of why I continue to be an FPJ customer.

Not to mention that the secondary market markup isn't that huge. There have even been some auctioned for only a tad over MSRP (including buyer's premium) even in the last couple months.

Good grief. I hope not. I was told my CB allocation is due to arrive in June. I hope nothing wacky happens.

It is not discontinued but from what the kind folks at the Ny boutique told me, the current wait list is 2 years+ out and they are not adding to it anymore at this point.

That would be very surprising cause in the European boutiques lists are all closed cause the went over 8 years

That is similar to what I heard... 6-8 years or don’t even ask... drove me to just pay market price.

I doubt anything will happen by June. With the list at 7 - 8 years, I am sure that even if they decide to discontinue it, they will most likely fulfill orders for a few more years.

That is correct. The list was closed last year when it had reached 8 years. So now it may be down to 7 years, but definitely not 2-3 years.

2 years was just being kind. It’s really more like 7.... also info from 2 diff NY boutique associates at two diff time points in 2019... and there was no reason to be dishonest w me as i already own one.

If it is not a “full payment” order, technically FPJ do not have to deliver.

Yeah, it seems that the associate was being very nice when she explained that the wait list is “at least 2 years out” and “currently closed”. This was back in December 2019, so not too far back.

I appreciate everyone chiming in to clarify how far out the list actually is.

It’s interesting to me also that — and this is a completely qualitative observation — the CB seems to be the Journe that is coveted by even those who are otherwise not big Journe fans. That dial is just out of this world.

Congratulations on owning one and may you wear it in good health!

Yikes! I hope the boutique keeps their word on their delivery date. No full payment request despite me wanting to pay for it.

I’m interested in one. Assuming cost to play is 2x premium to MSRP.

Oh yes! Boutique stuck to their word and got their delivery this week. Made the payment and got the tantalum deployant clasp too. Trying to decide on another strap color. Now, the hard part to wait and take delivery in Geneva in August, if COVID19 allows. Can’t wait to put on wrist.

Congrats!

In addition to the blue strap, I have the caramel and the grey straps. Of the 3, the grey is my favorite. It complements the tantalum case very nicely.

Thanks Jennifer, Skyrider. I like the suggestions in strap colors. Is there a color selection somewhere? I like the olive and caramel idea. Also would love burgundy or something like this.

Promise to post pics especially of the entire experience. Hoping to get access to the manufacturer and meet the watchmakers - perhaps even the legend himself. One can hope.

Congrats! Here’s a pic of straps posted on TRF a while back. Wish the FPJ website had them on line for order

Be careful.. you might end up spending more on the straps than the cost of your CB.. FPJ’s leather strap is certainly some of the best (and one of the most expensive) you can buy.

Enjoy

I’m waiting for my tantalum deployant clasp still too - plan to have it with the orange strap for a sportier aquanaut look. I ordered 2 straps, one pin buckle and the clasp without knowing price - oof
