While I like the durability of ceramic, it’s a little shiny to me. The dimensions of the 5 digits are perfect. Also, due to inflated 4 digit models, these are starting to hold and creep up in price. The solid end link on the Sea Dweller 16600 certainly prevents rattling, if that bothers you (not me). Great choice Brian.

True, but we still have the rattling from the clasp to keep us satisfied !

BTW, the 93250 is pretty much he same as the 93260 of the SD, there's indeed a lot less rattling from the SELs and the improved, lock-in-place, diver's extension. But the older 93150 on pre-2000 16610s wore more comfortable on smaller wrists...

In general, 5-digits represent a good balance of wearability and classic looks. 4-digits are more expensive and a bit less practical in day-to-day use. I wouldn't hesitate to dive with a properly maintained 16610, but would not risk a 1680 no matter what.

It looks great! I also prefer the proportions of the 5 digit references.

I love my 5-digit. Had many chances to try the 6-digit at the AD (before it's gone rare) but couldn't warm up with the 'boxy' head.

5 digits all day. Are the 6 digits “better” watches? Absolutely , but they lack the charm of older models.

5-digits are fantastic. As long as you can get past the bracelets and the clasps which are much better on the 6-digits in my opinion. It's not a deal killer for me though. I probably wear my 16710 and my 16610LV more than their 6-digit brothers, the BLNR and the LVc.

Yes, the early 16610 with Tritium Dial. I don’t think you will see tropical dial on the 90s’ and beyond references. The material were improved a lot and I have not seen any crazed or discolored dial on the late 5-digit (at least not yet). I have seen some “static” dial references popping up once in a while but those look like water damage more than aged.

I really think the 16610 might just be the most perfectly design watch rolex ever made.

The bracelet rattle is indeed very satisfying. The end links rattle is part of the charm as well but I am somewhat worry that it is scratching the engraved serial between the lugs. I use Loctite Threadlocker to keep the endlinks in place. Works very well but losing some of the rattle charms.
