Yes, hopefully will have the opportunity to do business with them again in the future and thank you!

Unfortunately they didn't have the 16234 to send as a replacement so opted for a full refund. If anyone knows of any AD or reputable seller with a 16234 Black Dial or 116234 Black Dial (for a reasonable price), please let me know!

Well a refund is a reasonable outcome for this!!!!

As of today I have yet to receive my full refund. Use DavidSW I have heard of no such issues buying pre owned from him.

How did you prove it was sent to you damaged? Genuinely curious.

Glad it worked out .. minus not getting the watch. I’ve bought pre-owned from Govberg within the past year and it was as easy as buying from DavidSW for me (who is also great).

These are the stock photos from my original purchase. I didn’t notice at the time the chip above the 50 on the bezel of the Cartier. Assumed it was a lighting issue. When I received the watch it had a chip above the 50 on the bezel. The bezel is ADLC coated and was supposed to be stronger then ceramic. The problem is two fold. The bezel slants inwards. While this looks cool it makes the edge of the bezel susceptible to chips. The other issue is that it’s a very thin layer of paint over steel. So while the chip was very minor being black paint over steel it stuck out like a sore thumb. It’s hard to tell In pictures but it was like having a diamond shine at you when the watch was in any kind of light. I could not live with it for the price I paid. I contacted them within 2 days of owning the watch and they said they were sorry they could not return the watch due to physical damage. (They took down the stock photos after I purchased it)I naively assumed for the price I paid for the watch it was sent to me perfect and somehow the damage was my fault even though it was not even worn yet. I had no way to prove the damage was sent to me like this. Make a longer story short they gave me 2 options. Return it for 75% of my purchase price back or I could exchange it for about a 15-20% loss. After thinking about it I returned the watch to exchange for a Rolex datejust ii. When they received my watch I was told there was a mixup and the Rolex I wanted was already sold. But let them hold on to my watch and they would find me a new Rolex ASAP. I told Them I wasn’t comfortable with them having my watch and money. They said be patient this was the best way. I decided to look for another watch when I saw my old watch up for sale again. My watch was dropped off at 10am by Fedex I was looking at the site at 1010 am and i saw my exact same watch for sale again with the blemish on the 50. I called govberg immediately and asked them if those were new pictures of my watch. He said no they were my watches old stock photos as there was no way they could have taken them that quickly. My watch wasn’t even inspected yet and the Fedex box wasn’t even opened yet. So boom. Have definitive proof the watch was sent to me defective. They said per their policy they have to charge a restocking fee. I said that’s crap because the watch was sent to me defective. So I had no choice but to get PayPal involved and they assured me with the proof I have that I would get my full refund. I just got email confirmation today in fact that a 100 percent refund would be sent to me in 5 days. For the money I paid I was expecting a near perfect watch and A plus customer service. They tried to bully me into taking a not fair offer but I held firm when I knew I was right and received my full refund. If PayPal wasn’t involved I would have got 90% at best and lost $700 for a watch that was sent to me damaged. So I know PayPal isn’t the best way to go all the time it worked in my favor this time.

Just got lucky that they made a greedy mistake by trying to sell my watch so fast. If they wouldn’t have put up my stock photos so quickly I could have never proved the Watch was sent to me damaged. I wonder how many people this happens to and they can’t prove it and have to take the 10 percent loss of more? Also the manager told me the only way he would honor the prices he quoted me at the time is if they could have the watch in their possession and find me a watch I liked. Finding the Rolex I liked could have taken months per the manager. That’s why I was looking for alternative watch options.

I filled a dispute and received a full refund. I wrote about it with pictures in the comments. Please read.

Good to see you are staying positive and hope it's all sorted out soon.

I'm surprised that Govberg can stay in business with the way they treat their customers though.

Ended up purchasing a 16234 SS/WG Black Roman Dial.

Same price, so I'm super excited for it to come in!
