It depends how sensitive you are with your watch size. Before the glidelock we would size our watch on the slightly looser side to accommodate wrist swelling. It was better to be a bit loose than too tight. Now the glidelock gives strap like flexibility if only you are in tune enough to use it. I don’t use mine a lot but when I do I am glad I can. I also tend to ignore slight wrist fluxuation and ride out the temporary issue. Old habits and decades of Rolex wrist time has my comfort zone dialed in.

Although I love the Glidelock on my SD43, the easy link has always worked just fine. Never been a time where the easy link didn't allow enough out for it to fit comfortably

I use the easy link on my Explorer with great success. Glidelock would be nice, but certainly not a deal breaker for me.

Never really used the Glidelock on my 114060, I found it a pain to get it just right. I did like the Easylink when I had an Exp II though. Simple and convenient.

The glidelock is nice, but it is not a necessary component in my opinion. The whole point is to adjust a diving watch to fit over a wetsuit. A properly sized Oyster bracelet should be pretty tolerable with the Easylink adjustment. I have never had any problems in the past.

That is how Rolex views it, which I think is unfortunate, since the on-the-fly adjustment is useful in so many more situations than just fitting the watch over a wetsuit. Omega figured this out, and developed a smaller adjustable clasp for use on some of their non-diver watches. IWC also did so on their pilot watches. It would be great if Rolex would also do this. I think an 8 or 10mm Glidelock clasp would be a superior option to an Easylink on the non-diver watches. |

freaking love it.
It is not just the glidelock but the combo of it and the improved bracelet that make it so damn comfortable. |

Adjustability is of no use to me what so ever.
I have the DSSD with the ultimate Glidelock variant and i never use it at all as i've been used to watches without bracelet adjustability for decades and they are set up accordingly for the ultimate in simplicity. I have demonstrated the feature to someone once though, merely as a novelty. |

I have a SubC and prefer the easy link over the glidelock, for me the easy link is all u need in daily activities and the glidelock clasps is too big IMHO

for me I have a springbar tool and I just use the micro adjustments on the clasp of the blnr and in the winter i bring it into the middle of the three settings and in the summer i move it back to the outermost of the settings and it seams to be perfect for me. never really use the easylink.

both my watches have the easy link... i get them sized snug with the easy link folded out as seeing I live in texas and its always hot! folding in the easy link is a perfect fit for cooler days... In my defense, i've never used the glidelock but my fit is just fine.

I had a SubC and actually changed to BLNR.
The Glidelock was nice but I found myself constantly messing with it and adjusting it several times a day. My Blnr has been the same size since I bought it 3 years ago and easylink is ideal. For me I’d rather have a BLNR without it than a SubC with it. |

Another huge fan of the glide lock here. My other steel bracelets just aren’t the same - I get a perfect fit every time

Love the glidelock but managed for 25 years without it. Generally just kept a toothpick handy if I needed a clasp adjustment. Takes less than a minute.

Is it a innovative design yes. Do I ever use it? not once in the 5 years that I wore my DSSD as a daily beater. None of my other watches have it and haven't felt the need for it. That being said my next rolex will probably be the updated DSSD JC.

I think the glide-lock is a God send for heavier watches (dssd, sd, subc, 18k) since they would flop around too much without a perfect fit.

To me, the Glidelock can create issues. I often fumble with it trying to find the "perfect" setting whereas, without it or just an EasyLink, I'd be less fixated. Just a personal point though, haha.

I hate every other clasp after having a glidelock. I can’t imagine anything else. It’s ruined a lot of other watches for me

Easylink works plenty good but I could imagine Glidelock is even better.

ok, hold on to your seat. i actually prefer the easy link over the glide lock. i know, shocking, right.
the gmt easy link is one of the most comfortable watches i own. don't pass on it b/c you're overthinking it. |

Ditto that the easy link on my BLNR works great. Could the glidelock get a little better fit yes but it's really not needed.

I have a D Blue and a BLNR. The EasyLink on the GMT works well because the GMT is a comfortable watch. The Glidelock on the D Blue is an engineering marvel but not really necessary if you have a watch sized correctly.

It's not a problem for me. I wear mine a bit on the loose side anyway. Easy link works well. On watches which have neither easy link nor glidelock I just adjust them a bit loose. My SD4K has glidelock but I hardly ever fiddle with it.
