If I were to keep only one Rolex, it would be a Sub Date, fulfilling the needs to be both a dress, and a casual.

I’m tempted as I’m only wearing the sd43 , I thought I’d be at the rotation stage but now the sunshine’s out and bouncing off the red text I can’t see things changing . So yes

The thought of only one watch makes me very sad... many of my watches celebrate special occasions...
If I had to choose one one... it would be the 116613LB. It is easy to dress up or dress down... and it is beautiful! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Single watch owner here, I have the SD4K. Would love to have more but it's just out of my league financially. Love the one I own though and am very happy with it. Of course I do have a list ready of my top 5 grail watches in SS and in PM so if anything changes I am ready for it lol!

I could be a one watch person if I chose but then I would have to stop reading about watches, viewing them on the internet and not go into my AD. For me, a lot of the fun is reviewing, trying, sometimes buying and wearing various watches. I believe in the right tool for the right job. This is also true of watches, cars and clothes and about anything else you want to apply it too. The BLRO is a beautiful watch and could be the one and only for daily use but I would also have a few Seiko Turtles and G-Shocks for other times. Find what works for you.

I think I’ll always have to own a SS Rolex professional watch, so for me the answer is no.
It’s a great watch though |

One-Watch Collection
The WG Pepsi is a beautiful watch. If it were mid keep one other SS piece for times where you just don’t want to wear PM.

Currently just have GMTc LN on Glidelock as one and only. Fits all circumstances - even the one time a year I get dressed up in a tux.

I think that is a great one and only Rolex, but as you have PP and AP too I should think you would want one of those as well, so a two minimum.

The BLRO in white gold, yes I can see it being someone's only watch. I'm more of a SS guy myself, but if you can afford it and willing to spend the money, sure.
To me the one watch goal is a pipe dream unless going through excruciating sacrifice and compromise. Painful as it might be, it deserves the utmost respect to someone capable of such feat. I lasted 7 years with my humble PO2500C and gave in to temptation eventually. Good luck with your difficult decision, OP. |

One watch guy here, been using my Submariner Date Ceramic and have never looked back. It's not very common here, but I just don't have a Collector's mentality in general, I enjoy watches, read tons about them and I'm passionate about them, but I don't collect. From time to time I may consider other watches but they must replace my Sub, won't be adding others.
My grail is a WG Sub and from what I've heard and read, you are good to go with a WG Sports Rolex for daily, one and only.

It's a great option but think I'd still be wanting a SS diver for back up.

You lost me at “one watch”. I ether need variety in my watches or my women.......and since my wife won’t let me have other women.....the choice is easy.

If you’re ever going to be a “one-watch” guy/gal, you’re going to have to stay away from watch forums, watch-related apps, browser bookmarks (delete them all), watch-related news and social media (esp. Instagram), etc. You catch the drift. Basically, you need to become a hermit outside of the watch world.
And if you have WIS friends/family, you’ll have to get rid of them too. LOL |

I have 3 watches but while I enjoye the variety (and wouldn't mind having a few more) I also dislike the change. A watch is something we spend a lot of time (and experiences) with, so I like having that "buddy" with me all the time. Bit of a first world problem. I'm considering reducing from 3 to 2. |

I wear my Explorer as a daily right now, with my Aquaracer/Turtle as occasional weekend wear. I suppose my Explorer technically qualifies, since I wear it 6/7 days a week.
I'm looking to add in the next week or two.

I love being a "one watch" guy. I still read about them every day, I've taken watchmaking classes, and I'm a full on watch nerd. I'm just minimalist and don't have a collector's mentality.
I've had a handful of Rolex watches come and go, but now it's a single Tudor 24/7, and I'm showing no signs of going a different direction. Mine is good for everything, and it happens to keep better time than any of my prior Rolex watches. Plus it's a little unique and I've never seen another in the wild. Of course, there's always this classic article for motivation: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/op...-one-watch-guy |

As a BLRO owner, I don't think you can do much better if you're going to stick to a one watch collection.
Now the problem is...sticking to a one watch collection. As for all that talk about gold being softer than steel...blah, blah, blah. They wear the same, IMO. Don't overthink it. |

Hate to say it over my Sub but it would probably be the SD43.

1? If forced it would be exp 1 as it does most things well. 3 I think i could be happy with. But my watch box has 6 slots; it looks odd with empty spaces... ;)
