I think the Sub works fine for smaller wrists, but for larger than average wrist size it can look a bit dainty. The SD43 is an answer to our prayers. Love it...

I have a 7.25” wrist, the watch is not that big, not overwhelming, honestly if Rolex wouldn’t have place the thicker case back on the watch it would be a 43mm Submariner Plus! Wear it for a week and your 40mm subs will feel small.

SD43 is my ultimate Rolex that I have worn the longest. I prefer this watch over owning SS 116520 White, 14060M, 116610LN, 126710BLNR, and a Hublot Classic Fusion Chrono.
Reasons: I’ve always been a fan of slightly larger or comparatively big size watches AP 42MMs Panerai 44MM. This size for me is the sweet spot.

Tho I may have just a 6.6 inch wrist but I love my 44mm Roo's and SD43. And I personally think it fits well. So long the lugs are not hanging losse

Obviously it is a matter of opinion. I have close to an 8" wrist and it wears well but I'll also throw on my Zenith Daytona occasionally and like the lighter weight, discreet presence of it. For a big watch, they did do an excellent job of putting it together. If forced to choose an ultimate SS watch from the Rolex line-up, you'd be hard pressed to find a better choice than a sub or Daytona even if they're not your favorite.

To each their own, but it isn't for me... Something about the bezel-to-dial size that seems off to me.

Would you say

It's a beautiful watch and I like the proportions. I'm having a difficult time with the comfort level and thinking about trading for a BLNR - which I find far more comfortable.

I'm not sure Rolex hit the bullseye with the SD43. For me at least, 2mm thinner would have been perfect and I'd have gladly traded water resistance depth for that. I do love the large diameter as compared to the Sub, however, and I also much prefer it with the cyclops. I also like the case shape better on the SD43.

Well it certainly works for me. I can guarantee that this piece is definitely with me till I visit the big AD in the sky. I do love my DSSD as well, although I’m waiting for the 126660 to come in. Other than that the only piece I am interested in is the Skydweller. I need at least a 42mm or it looks like I’m wearing a ladies watch.

SD43 is a beautiful watch, but looking at that picture, I actually prefer the way SubC looks on you.

Thanks buddy. For a watch to look large on me I would have to wear a 46mm upwards I think

Yeap I would say so, from a non-diver's perspective. The cyclops is not as a turn off as what most purists point it out to be.

I really don’t mind the Cyclops at all. It gets mentioned a lot and I just don’t see the issue

Above my elbow, yes, below my elbow, NO, it’s way too big for me.

I love the new SD/MEGA SUB!
But I still have a soft spot for the smaller Sub which wears like a 42 compared to my five digit.

Is it a sin to have both?

116600 is actually the ultimate SS for me, i guess as long as it give me all i need in a watch then that makes it ultimate for me.
