Great photos and report, and congratulations on acquiring this stunning piece!

I was at the Geneva boutique 6 weeks ago, and they told me the wait for the CB is now a year and a half!
I am fairly high up on the Miami list so I hope to get mine sometime this year.

I'd also like to recommend title switch to "I just became Bleu." Better to be mistaken for being cyanotic!

Congrats, amazing watch, great post, that was a nice day you had there.
I am getting mine in a couple of weeks, I was in Paris and there was one available for me, the boutique director agreed to keep it for me until I do the transfer upon my return to Blighty. I feel so lucky I did not wait to get one.

I am going back to Paris on the 15th (can’t wait....) to get it .

Not sure they will give me an extra strap but I will ask any way, I love that brown/orange one.

Wow, I didn’t know you could have this depth in the the dial,

This is really amazing

So I guess it remains to be seen how deep down the FPJ hole you will fall! Although I will say the CB gives me more satisfaction than any other piece (FPJ or otherwise), so it's very reasonable to stop right there.
I have dreamt about the Tourbillon for the last decade. Now that I've slowly worked my way up in price point (the 5990 is breaking new territory for me), who knows?

It's actually quite crazy how quickly the list has ballooned in Geneva. At the end of November it was just a 3-4 month wait, and now the list is 18 months or more. The guy at the MAD Gallery in Geneva (MB&F) was lamenting how he didn't get onto the list earlier and now has to wait for 18 months!

Honestly Brian, these incomings together were beyond my wildest dreams. The 5990 came almost completely out of left field earlier this month and my lucky stars aligned.

Haha, sounds like a slippery slope. The pricing on the Tourby's have moved up a lot in recent years (the older stuff) so I think that ship may have sailed for me. I've been very interested in the Optimum, but I'm not a fan of 40mm so I'm not sure. Other than that I do want something g with the MOP dial.

Maybe a little too loud as a daily, but I really dig its looks!

I have it on the grey for the workweek...

Which watch are you wearing more often and/or more excited to put on right now, the CB or 5990?

I am currently wearing the CB more as the 5990 fit isn't quite dialed in correctly yet, and by virtue of me having had it for 10 days more than the 5990. The excitement of the 5990 is indescribable however - I still can't believe I have my first Nautilus in hand, let alone the king of all SS sports watches out there, arguably. The finish is stunning, but also makes me nervous about wearing it at the same time with all those brightly polished and angular surfaces.
