I think the Batman looks miles better than the new BLRO and I’m sure I’ll be flamed for it..

The BLRO will look different due to the bezel being WG

They both look quite good. I personally wished they came out with a new Coke at Basel 2018. That combo works the best in my mind. Unfortunately I think it's years away.

The both look great. The black face is more "tool watch" and "classic" and the blue face is more "fun." Can't go wrong with either one. Personally I'd lean toward the black face but go with your gut!

To be honest I love purple and this kind of cranberry color, so I don’t mind one bot and am getting the new Pepsi in SS, but am wondering why they make a perfect blue on the BLNR and not on the Pepsi, quite strange if you know how to do it and you don’t

I guess Rolex has some kind of technological difficulty in making a perfect blue-red ceramic bezel currently.

If you want to see something interesting, but a BLNR next to a ceramic Sub. The sub bezel is much more black and the BLNR black looks a bit gray next to it. |

BLNR Seems to give the illusion that it wears larger. I like the Pepsi/Superman, and I am one of the first on the waiting list, but I think all hype aside I am starting to lean to the Batman aesthetically.

The BLNR has more pop to the colors.

The new WG is so hot. Love the blue dial with the bezel.

Looking at the new one, it seems the color temperatures are the same. Almost blue and almost red. Both halves glow with the same intensity.
The BLNR has a hard blue which matches nicely with the hard black. My pick would be the BLNR but the new one is hard to resist!

The variant in the blue huhe, is significantly different in both examples. But I don’t find it a bad thing, just different.

The blue of the WG Pepsi bezel is indeed different as the blue in the SS Pepsi bezel.

I’m not sure it should be called a Pepsi bezel, that’s not blue and red

I don't mind the pinkish part, and it would be freaking awesome if the blue could be as blue as the BLNR but it's not. As such, I give not even one damn, I want the ss BLRO. It's the jubilee, that thing is freaking sick on this watch.
It's a polarizing watch, many like certain things but not others. With so much rampant dislike, you'd think it would be found sitting in windows and we know there's not a chance in hell of that. I owned the BLNR and it was beautiful and even on that watch, the bezel color changed so much with light. I would have never thought a watch could have so much different facets. |

Nice comparison. I am liking the Blue dial on the WG more and more. As for bezel, like most, I would prefer deeper Blue and Red, but the actual tones are not deal breakers, especially when I don't try to draw the correlation between the new and 5 digit references.

The colours seem to change a lot on the BLRO depending on lighting conditions. In the showrooms, and at Basel, the intense lighting is definitely showing more of a pink/purple bezel, and this was true when I tried it on at a Rolex launch event. I wanted to get it out in natural light to see how it would look, but the Rolex staff were having none of it.
In some photos the bezel looks pink/purple, and in others burgundy/navy. Sometimes it does look more classic red/blue, perhaps this is true in more natural settings and not under the intense lights of a showroom. The colours are muted though and more opaque, it doesn’t have the shine of a BLNR. I recently looked in the window of a Regent Street dealer in London and they had a WG BLRO and it looked like a classic blue and red combo on that particular day - perfect colours, but lacking the lustre of other Rolex ceramic bezels. It’s a watch that will change colour a lot depending on the light, and I like that. But I do get how people wanted and expected more of a consistent red/blue bezel. The manufacturing process is the cause - some of the red is left over in the blue leading to hues of purple. It may improve in time. It does appear to be a shortcoming though, if Rolex had meant for this colour combination then why does the BLRO appear unquestionably blue and red on their website? This is a photoshopped image, not a natural shot of the watch itself. The BLNR is a stunning watch. It has an even more vibrant blue coupled with a striking shiny black bezel. As one poster put it: almost perfect. Almost. It’s missing something (for me at least)... and that’s the red. Don’t get me wrong, black and blue is a great combo, and I am seriously considering buying it myself, but as I rarely ever wear a suit I think the black and blue is a touch too formal for me personally. And that’s why I’m drawn to the classic Pepsi look. I’m on the waiting list for an SS BLRO, but regularly wonder whether I would be just as happy with a BLNR or LN instead (without the years of waiting). Still very undecided, but ultimately I know that all three are absolutely excellent watches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The ceramic BLRO colouring is the next 'Fat Lugs' in that it will be trashed regularly for years to come.

Thanks for this side by side comparison. The BLNR is the winner for me hands down! Each person will have their own preference, but for myself, I just can't warm up to the violet/pink bezel and violet dial. That violet color for some reason keeps reminding me of those Ditto papers with the violet colored ink that they used to use in schools. Some of you younger generations probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

I think the BLRO ceramic looks alright.....if I had to pick the old aluminum inserts would win every time for me but I know we're not in that era no more. I just find it funny people try hard to defend it saying stuff like it's a throwback to the fuchsia inserts/old bakelite etc lol. It is what it is and I don't think it looks bad.....else I wouldn't be adding one (whenever it gets here) but I still like the BLNR better.
