I know I’m in the minority, but this watch (either the WG or the new Pepsi that everyone is going crazy for) never and still doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t like the colors of the bezel, and I definitely find the jubilee bracelet to feminine for me.

Having said that, when I saw the new WG version with the blue dial I was immediately drawn to it. It’s amazing on how such a small detail can make such a big difference on how the watch presents itself.

I guess I’m lucky that I could really care less about the new Pepsi because I wouldn’t be able to acquire one anyways, but the WG with the blue dial is a stunner and if I didn’t already have a Smurf, this would be my next time piece.

That’s the great thing about our hobby/passion for nice time pieces. Everyone is different and we like what we like. Just because I don’t like them doesn’t mean they aren’t incredible watches, on the contrary, I’m one of the only weirdos that doesn’t like the new Pepsi.

All that to basically say: get the WG BLRO with the new blue dial. Absolutely beautiful!!,

The blue is my vote. It differentiates itself from the SS version. Well that and the bracelet.

I prefer the black dial. I've just never been a fan of the flat blue dials...which is what has kept me off of the WG Sub...now if it was released with a sunburst dial...it would get back on the radar...

I usually prefer blue dials but not in this case, I think the black dial gives a nicer contrast.

About Rolex changing the dial for free ROFL, in what world do you live in? Maybe they will change the dial for free once you buy the other one, that might be possible though not sure, but change it for free no chance

I was told that black dial WG BLROs (like mine) have the option of changing to blue, but that once changed they could never go back to black.

Can you give your source for this information? I checked with 3 seperate Rolex AD's I deal with and none of them heard of this option and another poster on here checked with an RSC who also had no information on this option.

My choice would be the blue dial BLRO. It's a stunning color, goes really well with the red/blue bezel. Got to see it in person at my local AD Basel 2018 presentation, a few weeks ago. Plus with the introduction of the SS BLRO on jubilee, I would much rather have the WG on a blue dial.

The black dial of course. If the market price of SS Pepsi’s does not drop over the next year then the WG BLRO will become a much more attractive purchase given that it has the Oyster and can be had for $27-30k in mint condition.

Hmmm, I really like the blue dial from what I’ve seen in the pics.

I love Rolex blue dials but after seeing it in person it just looks off. It's like it's missing something. I don't know how to explain it but it's not a Smuf blue or a sunburst blue it just looks off to me it's kind of flat and dull. Maybe it's the contrast to the bezel, because it's not a true blue.

Feel that the blues do not match. Would rather go for black then!

They both look beautiful. I think that the blue dial will be a very rare sight in the wild.

I’d choose the black face - it’s more striking, looks original, and it just has more presence. The blue face doesn’t quite match up to the blue of the bezel. It’s a great watch and should save you money too over the brand new one. Guessing the black dial might be more collectible in the long run too given that it’s now phased out for the white gold version?

I’m thinking blue dial but hard to say emphatically before seeing it IRL. Some of those above pics look great with it. I flipped the wg Black Dial as it didn’t hold my attention.

The blue dial is very different and makes the watch look special now. Before, in black, it was special but with the introduction of the ss model the only difference is a bracelet and lets face it, there will be a mod soon to put a ss oyster on that, making it look the same as the wg. If i had the choice it would be blue.

Get the black in steel and the blue in white gold = problem solved.

I'd go Black. But I haven't seen the blue in the flesh.

I very recently tried 3 local AD's to hope and locate a leftover black dial with no luck, and they seem to have appreciated slightly vs. 6 months ago on the used market and seem to be moving quickly. If you can find a leftover BNIB, might want to jump on it.

I'd go black dial all day long, better contrast of colors IMO!

The blue gives it younger and sportier character. The black is classic. Personally I’ll go for the blue.

Between the 2, the blue dial.

But at this point, if getting a Pepsi, I'd get the SS for the new movement and larger hands.

Blue! The blue dial looked better with the WG Pepsi GMT. The watch with this blue dial looked more vibrant and sportier that the one with the black dial, especially when seen from a little distance. It looked really nice with the greyish gleam of white gold.

But the real problem is: why didn't Rolex equip this watch with the new 3285 movement??:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...highlight=3285

I'm interested in this watch. But I guess I'll have to wait 2 years or so to get it with the new movement.

Blue.

You want black? Buy the stainless steel. Looks the same.
