For a robust daily wear, between those two, the SD.
Much prefer the solid end links and center links.

Based on those pics, it would seem the SD43 would have worked out for you.
I like the longer minute hand and new movement.

Great observation. Funny how the thing that attracted me to the SD43 (larger shinier ceramic bezel, next to a flat dial) especially given its 43mm size, is the reason for you to give it up.

The pepsi looks great on you and will stand out and be a conversation piece. SD4k will be just another black diver as viewed from 6 ft away.

Honestly looking at the two pics I think the SD43 wears better on you. Your wrist size in my mind anyway makes the GMT look a little dainty, particularly with the jubilee bracelet. So after see the photos, and you saying the SD43 wasn't for you, maybe the SD4K is the way to go. It will wear larger, has the tapered lugs you like, and is a heavy tough sports watch with the greatest bracelet and clasp out there. I had a similar GMT to that one and traded it on my SD43 for similar reasons you mention. Light flimsy bracelet and that it wears small. Just didn't have that special feel that the new ones have. The new bracelets and bezels are just HUGE upgrades. Good luck to you, not sure if this helped or made is worse

I guess it depends on what you do daily. I honestly think aluminum inserts are better than ceramic in terms of wear and tear.....heavy blows would just ding the aluminum and it's far cheaper to get a replacement through RSC or even buying them grey market versus trying to replace a cracked/shattered ceramic insert . The only thing is for regular scratches etc, the ceramic would be far less likely to scratch. But the 5 digit oyster bracelets are bulletproof from what I can tell and proven throughout time already....I never understood the talk of them being flimsy...sure the 6 digit clasps and links seem beefier but I don't feel like it necessarily is all that much more durable for wear...just excess and wears larger with more presence on the wrist versus the 5 digit oysters like the 93150.

I've seen older men with vintage Rolex watches, worn daily everywhere. My boss has an exp ii... Wears it all the time, looks great!

16710 would be my choice between the 2. Also keep in mind 2003 is the last year of holes in the lug casing, yours looks to be 2004 or newer.

If the bracelet longevity is a concern, you can always replace it after a few years. It will be a costly replacement ($2k-ish ? nowadays, more as the time goes up), but that is a price to pay for wear and tear and enjoying a watch that you like.

I must say, I wore my 2007 bluesy day in day out for 9+ years straight as my only Rolex, and there is minimal stretch on the bracelet, and while the bracelet on hulk sounds and weighs a lot more solid, I would not doubt my bluesy's bracelet one bit for another 20 years given its past.

Plus you can always get a nato or Everest band and mix and match, and put less usage on the OEM bracelet if that is something that interests you as well.

I really like the discontinued SD 4K. It’s one of the few SS sports watches I don’t have. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

Pepsi all day. You have other great watches that can be rotated so I wouldn’t worry about the build quality of the Pepsi. The SD is probably tougher but I doubt you will be doing anything that the SD will survive but the Pepsi won’t. Plus having a gmt watch will be a plus and Daytona, explorer, and Pepsi will make a killer collection.

Thank you for saying my wrists are fat in a nice way ...

I believe you make the perfect argument for the SD4K, it'll be right between the GMT and SD43. I think I'm closer to making a decision. Thanks !

I love the GMT so much, that i take it off in the office and place it right above the keyboard, just to enjoy its beauty.

I love the size of 5 digit reference. But i also lile the chunkyness of the 6 digit watches.

Should i get this GMT and maybe SubC later ?
Or get 2018 GMT, and maybe Sub 14060m ?

I still have it.. I thought maybe wearing it for a while, I'll let it out my system... The problem is, it's not leaving my system

Sometimes I take it off and just enjoy looking at it.

I know I already replied...

Here is a pic to make your decision harder lol

I do agree with the above, after looking at your pics I personally think SD43 fits you great. But if you're not in love, then you are right not to force it.
It's tough. Good luck!

Sea dweller for sure. Ceramic beauty Ms correct me if I'm wrong anyone but I think it's the shortest production run ever from Rolex!

Even if it's not te shortest ever, it's really short on Rolex standards. Another point for Sd4k !

Alright, i found a picture of the SD4K on my wrist. That was when I tried it on at the AD before it being discontinued. At USD 9k !!

Funny enough, I went with another watch back then for sole reason of it being already discontinued. I went with a VC Overseas in Titanium.

Needless to say, I regret that decision today.
