IMHO, it is certainly a big watch but as a real tool watch it wants to make a statement. on your wrist it looks great - if one likes big watches. my wrist is small, 16.5 cm, and i have now worn the watch for almost three weeks in a row and i still oscillate between 'keeper' and 'flip it'.

OP, what I have learned is that you need to walk a few feet away from a full length mirror and take a pic of the watch from distance. Then you can gauge the size of the watch compared to 'you' and not 'your wrist'. If you are a 6ft tall guy with long hands, this watch would look right at home on you regardless of your wrist size. If you are 5'4" and weigh 110 lbs, this will be much too big on you.
Everyday I get on the elevator at work with very skinny guys wearing massive watches (not rolex, but other fashion or quartz watches) and they all look fine. It doesn't bother me that their watch choice is too big for their wrist. The overall fit, of those large watches on them as part of the whole package, looks good on them.

Looks ok on you. Be confident! If you really lost your sleep at night thinking of the watch, then buy it!!!

Remove the diver extension and the fit is perfect. Same wrist as yours and love that sd43.

Weight is really something that is more relative than anything else.
For example, my SD43 is my very first Rolex but I came from a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Calibre S Regatta 42mm. When I first began visiting AD’s to try on different references, it was an eye opener. I was initially looking at the Milgauss and the EXPII and from reading the threads here was told to expect how heavy the Milgauss would be due to its’ Faraday cage. Coming from the Tag, the Milgauss felt just as heavy as it, maybe slightly less so.....so I was pleasantly surprised. The EXPII felt so damned light, comparatively speaking, it felt wrong on my wrist....I loved the look, but couldn’t get over how light it was. The SD43 felt just has heavy as my 42mm Tag....perhaps a smidgeon heavier, but not enough to really notice. So really it’s all relative to what you are used to. It’s a gorgeous and unique reference.....buy it if you like it. |

It looks fine to me.
Important thing is how u feel about it on ur wrist. It’s not always ez to tell size from pics. The angle of the picture can make a big difference. I have 7.25, and in some pics, the SD43 looks huge. Lol But I know how it looks in real life. My fav watch currently

Not too big at all. A great-looking watch. I wouldn't think twice from a size standpoint - watches are bigger these days, and even if the trend goes smaller, that watch on your wrist looks great.

This!!!! Everyone takes pictures from six inches away and then gets crucified on the forum even though those watches probably look fine in real life. I was horrified by the Deepsea when I tried it but I've seen them on a few on guys of about my size and it looks a lot smaller. Still a bit too beastly for me but context and perspective, as in all things, are so important. |

Yes, Rolex haven't updated their website. There is a guy in Singapore who has also got one which I spotted on Instagram. These are the only two that I've seen so far! Fair to say that this will mean SD43 MKI prices will increase.

+2 yes! Don’t take a pic inches away, it will look large. Once you take a step back and take it with a full length mirror it’s fine. Btw, looks perfect on your wrist from the first pic. Not a problem at all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
