What did your laser machine cost if I may ask? I suppose it takes quite a few repairs to earn it back? |

We got a good deal on ours and financed it. The monthly cost is worth it for us. It saves us a lot of time when working with gold but we use it daily for stainless steel. But one will spend $13.5k + depending on model, power, features.

Great work ,congrats ,may i can ask what do you charge in retail for a complete rebuild ? update I found the quotes in your other thread .$300 for a full rebuild on SS ,right?Any difference between folded or jubilee in price? Not bargaining just wondering:-) A question regarding quality, how do you compare yours to the other one in HK- i ve seen some bad feedback about them.

No price difference between the Jubilee bands. People are happy with our work and we typically have a 2 week turnaround on most jobs.

A quick shot of one side fully assembled and in the rough. The client asked for unpolished, which we normally oblige, but there was quite a bit of welding done so we kept polishing to an absolute minimum but did need to smooth these surfaces.

Yikes. Wise not to let a sloppy bracelet get too far gone before repairing. Too much play focuses nearly all frictions to the corners of links. What could have been a routine repair becomes much more costly.
From the side it's sloppy but not the worse we've seen. |

The underside shows what happens when the bracelet has this much play. It bends abnormally and the corners of the gold links grind into each other and the friction and force becomes unevenly distributed.

Wow! Those are some seriously wasted bracelets. I don't even understand how they get that bad. Is that from grit/dirt/oil/dead skin build up? I wash the bracelet on my daily wearer a least a few times a week with water and soap or WristClean.

Are there any metals you do not work on?
904 stainless? WG? Platinum?

Either of those works. Wear is going to happen, but grime accelerates damage so keeping clean helps.

The only metal we avoid is titanium.
WG, YG, 904L Yes. We recently received 904L stainless fill wire but comes to us in a much heavier gauge than we like. It's fine for now but we have to grind 6" pieces down to a manageable gauge to match power of the fill wire and the work piece. This produces a clean strong weld with a nice silky finish. It takes us extra time so we may consider a surcharge for 904L. The minimum order quantity for the custom gauge we need starts at 1 TON. Wayyy too much material for our small operation. We're getting a steady flow of bracelet work but not nearly as a much as we anticipated. Still looking for the volume to make this work practical in the states. |

Geez, the things we find. This mid size expansion came to us to replace a few broken springs. One did not feel right at all and we figured out why. Peeking inside something isn't right with the spring. At first we couldn't figure out what it was.

Maybe you guess it. It's a spring robbed from a spring bar then bent into a "W" shape. Ummm ok.

4 completely torn links. 5 links very worn and about to tear. The rest damaged by normal measure. Every piece in need of welding.
