I’d be more annoyed about the watch not shipping when he said it would. The $60 I snt worth the hassle IMO.

Hope the watch turns up as described OP

This part is a little concerning. I am very curious to see what actually arrives in the box. Hopefully it is not just air.

Standing by and hoping for the best.

Perhaps I'm too cynical and I hope I'm 100% wrong but I don't like where this is going ...

At least you used PayPal in case you get a box full of nothing.

In the event you DO get the watch, as described, the seller goes from being a potential scammer to just being a butt hole.

I've sold watches in the past where I grossly overestimated cost of shipping - I made sure I reached out to buyer and each time I was told not to worry about it. Sometimes, it is all about being upfront and not coming across as a...

I think I'd be much more worried about getting the watch at this point, rather than worrying about the price of shipping.

Some USPS shipping is very slow and items can sit in one place for a long time before they begin to move.

I also think that the seller should be named, but after the package arrives or if it doesn't arrive after a reasonable period.

They need to get it together and accept insured fedex overnights. They didn’t send it back to me registered mail so I don’t know why they will only accept it. AP and Patek don’t require registered mail.

Like others have mentioned, OP, I think you need take steps to ensure you are covered if it doesn't arrive as described. There are a few other horror stories on different forums where buyers receive empty boxes or junk.

Since it (should) have signature on delivery, try and be there and have the mailman standby as you open it, and video tape it if at all possible. Again, luckily you used paypal, so that will cover you somewhat if it's not there or not as described.

Good luck...

Sorry to hear OP.

At this point I would name the seller.

Someone making an issue out of $61 or even $100 is not someone I ever want to deal with. I don't need a seller telling me how much boxes and bubble wrap cost. They sure as hell don't cost $61.

Negative. Different watch. That one was also a bit of a disaster with the shipping as well (Sat in customs for almost 2 weeks) but that came in. Ultimately I ended up returning it...long story but ABSOLUTELYRolex is a decent dude. This is not him.

That's your right wrist! Is the watch on your left wrist?

Jokes aside, I'm sorry for the situation you're in and am hoping for a positive outcome.

Man, that's not good...

I've FedEx overnight/priority/signature etc watches in the past to members and pricing has been around $80... I've only had one issue where the watch didn't get out on time. We received a foot of snow and the local FedEx store didn't even open...

You should absolutely have it by now... What is the seller saying???
By now he owes you the whole $100 back, not just $61. Or cancel the deal and get your money back before it drags on too long.

What an unfortunate situation.. I hope you do somehow get the watch now and if/when you do, make sure you record yourself opening it for evidence, in case the seller sent something else or an empty box.. Good Luck!

I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience on the forum. Everyone that I have ever dealt with has been a complete and honest individual.
I am also in agreement that you should name the seller. It may prevent someone else from having the same difficulty.

Any updates? Did you receive the watch? Agree with others, this is poor service. Get your 61$ back

That fella owes you $61.

If he wants to charge packing materials list that in the for sale ad.

Packing material and boxes - $10 ect ect.

$61 for packing material is a joke and a slap in the face.

I would seriously offer him money to stand there and watch me open the box. This has disaster written all over it. Fingers crossed for the best outcome!

OP,
Best of luck in getting THE watch you paid for and getting everything else sorted out.

Feel free to name the seller.

I think the shipping cost is the least of things to worry about. Let us know if/when package is delivered and good luck.

Still walking around with a naked wrist like an idiot...I've been emailing with some supervisors at USPS. I should be getting the package today. (5 days late)
At this point I've soured on this entire deal. The watch I'm waiting for is an Omega Speedmaster (sorry mods for not posting in the omega section) Feel like I should have saved a bit more and purchased a GMT II Black from a tried and true trusted seller here.

Hopefully your watch arrives and you can put this behind you. I’d seriously entertain the opening the box in front of the postman and taping it. Should be concrete evidence to a PayPal dispute if need be.

Know we're all hoping for the best here. Keep your cellphone close when package arrives and record the unboxing.

Don't regret getting the speedy. No Rolex has been able to scratch the speedy itch!

If it's something you're willing to do, please do post a quick review on the whos who so we all know who to avoid.

Looking forward to the incoming thread.
