Don't give the guy too much crap about the value thing. He should know that buying the Explorer II at retail is a bad decision. Too much depreciation. Get the Explorer II used or try to get it new from one of the TD on here at a decent discount.
Most important though, get the watch that sings to you. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the new Explorer II models but it's not my watch. |

It’s really a good watch t have in terms of quality and value but what’s more important is what you really want. You shouldn’t get a watch just because of value, just follow your heart and how happy it makes you feel each time you set your eyes on it.

The Explorer 42mm doesn’t have the wide appeal of the other sports models, but it finds appreciation with a smaller group of us. Seems to be a great watch for people who like to have something “under the radar.” I bought a polar 42mm because I wanted a modern, full size steel sports, which is also different/under the radar. HOWEVER, I have now fallen in love with the looks of this watch after living with it for some time. The white dial is something special.

I have the white dial and it’s probably the one watch I own that I’ll never part with, just ticks every box for me

Thanks again for all the info and tips guys! So a little update, I put my name down for a polar explorer 2. Just have to wait for the call :) just had a little bad taste in my mouth after speaking with an AD because they asked how much i spent on my other watches in which that determines my place in line for certain watches. I was like what the...? They said the more I buy, the further ahead I could be for other watches like the daytona.. but anyway, I'm looking for the explorer to be my one and only..like my every day do everything watch. So despite that bad taste, I washed it out with the flavor of me finally getting my first rolex :)

Make the quick flight to Fort Smith, Arkansas. The local AD has one in the showcase!

Haha nah, I can wait. The AD in waikiki actually has the polar and black one too (for anyone in hawaii) lol. I was like nah, I just got done with work and driving into waikiki on a Friday, let alone parking there, is a drag.

Rolex explorer 2
The polar is my go to watch when I travel across the pond. I always set the secondary hour dial to my home time and reset the primary hour dial to local time.
