I believe the new, wider hands were used starting in 2014, but for some reason the Rolex website has always shown the blue OP36 with the old hands. I'm guessing it's an oversight on Rolex's part; their website isn't known for being up to date.

Congrats! I remember my first nice watch that I bought myself around your age was a Tag Heuer. Wish I could have had a Rolex. Enjoy it!
