Got back from Greece last week and scored

To start, the watches on my want list are the gmt blro, blrn, and sub date.
In Athens there are about 5 ADs within walking distance so I walked to them all, 1 was closed, 3 said they didn’t have anything and in the 4th, I sat down and spoke with the salesman/owner (I think). He explained that he had a sub d in his safe at retail, about 8k euro, but since they were so rare, I’d have to pay him an additional 1k euro in order to purchase it. Ha! This guy was a complete sleaze. Then he told me how much of a VAT refund I would get back, about 1700 euro in order to lessen the blow. Later, I found out this number was inflated so I’d look at the price as lower than actual. I honestly felt like taking a shower after leaving his tiny, sleazy, shop. I smiled and told him that I’ll keep looking. I didn’t even want to entertain haggling with the a-hole. Absolute scum.
After this, I was dismayed by the whole search and figured I’d just stop off at any ADs in the areas I’m traveling in and not seek them out

We then traveled through Corinth (we rent a car and drive) on our way to the southern town of kalamata On the way, we passed one AD in a town called Loutraki but it was closed. Then on to the very beautiful little town of Nafplio. I highly recommend stopping here and checking out the adjacent fortress and the beautiful beaches. In Nafplio, we found a very small AD run by a husband and wife. I asked if they had a sub date or a gmt. Guess what...they had both
Unfortunately the gmt was the all black model, so I passed on it. Naturally, I bought the sub d. There was no price mark up, and the owners were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Rolex My wife and I had a nice chat with them and they told us next time, call in advance, and they’ll hold one if they can.
Here it is

(My hand isn’t really this wrinkled, lots of water time)
