The power of marketing...
Big consumer backlash to cheap snap-on case backs? Call them “driven” instead, make them look like screw-down backs and call it a day. |

Who said anything about a “different mechanism?” I merely said that it requires a different tool to take the caseback off. Ready to sign off? Lol

Well. my precious thread got derailed into a snap on, driven, screw on case back discussion. I don't mind.
I still haven't made up my mind, but it is currently between a 210 and a 610. And yes, the 753 is perhaps unfairly disqualified for having a faux pas threaded case back... |

Is the 610 thinner than the 210? 610 has a sandwich dial correct? Much thanks in advance.

Had the chance to try a 753 today at my local AD and really liked it, I think for the price is a lot of watch and the strap is very nice like a dark Assolutamente.

So I just recently bought the 609 which is the 610 with sub seconds. The 610 is definitely not Sandwich dial but grooves with lume in the grooves. The 753 is painted on lume only. So a little more basic...but still it looks fantastic.

I think the driven term is just a more sophisticated way of saying snap on! The octagonal shape it's surely a better visual experience than the round one, but hey, snap on or driven, for me, it's the same sh... don't get fooled by this gimmick.
Erick is in denial, hahahaha, and I would only second that when I'll see a driven case on his wrist 😁 |

I have no doubt that the caseback is secure. It's just sad to see the change from screw on to driven. It's a lot more "romantic" to have an old style screw on case back. The driven case may even be more technically advanced but ........... Same goes for the basic model of luminor that are now 100mt WR being downgraded from 300 mt WR.

Well, back on track I tried the 424 today but got sidetracked by the 720 they had... New of course and 47mm like the 424. I left puzzled and empty handed. The 720 is really nice!
Sometimes I think they have too many variants, I might never be able to make up my mind. |

Great value PAM on a really beautiful “sleeper” strap...no need to change with that beauty...the 753 was one of the star releases this year, IMHO...

Bought the 210 and have never regretted it. Near flawless, preowned, B&P.
Did you ever pick up your Radiomir, OP?
