On a (slightly) more serious note...

I really am not a person who was pre-ordained for Internet forums of any type, and I’m seriously surprised to be here after more than four years.

I have occasionally glanced at other forums (as a result of this thread i just looked at reddit). Pas pour moi.

I find TRF to be utterly charming. I have made friends here, and I share my hobby with them.

Long may it continue. Long live TRF.

to all.

I am a moderator on Reef Central, the largest marine aquarium forum on the Internet. Over the past couple of years, forum traffic has dropped drastically on all of the marine hobby websites.

TripAdvisor, especially NYC and LA subforums; WUS; SuperbikePlanet; NorthAmericanMotoring. Used to be more frequent on Rennlist and Bimmerfest but less now that I no longer own those brands. Was once very active on VWVortex’s infamous The Car Lounge which I kind of miss. It’s an unexpurgated discussion of anything with even a tenuous connection to automobiles.

I might have been a member of that forum years ago. Loved the place, all the talk of skimmers, chemistry, material to load into the sump, had great fun there.

Used to have a 120 gallon bow front tank, 85 lbs live rock (was going to add more, Berlin method as well as wet/dry filtration), Yellow tang, emperor Tang, damsels, soft corals, snails, fans, had a lion fish that ate a couple of my damsels towards the end, and my Blonde tang, lived for 14 years, so much I can't even remember.

Had a Koran Angelfish that I got as a small juvenile, outgrew the aquarium eventually and had to move him.

Arrival of children and my wife wanting it, "Out of my living room!!" resulted in the decline of that tank.

Now, small 29 gallon BioCube saltwater tank in the family room....one day, 200 gallon tank, custom built and designed and I'll mesmerize all my fish with the dial of the Bluesy!!

Sounds like a great tank, Phrank. I'm tankless now, as I gave everything away when I moved to an apartment while we built a house. But every time I look at a build thread on RC, I get a little more of the marine bug once again.

Really, it's outrageous! Get married, have kids, build a house, and you lose all your toys, where did it all go wrong....

Reddit- This is an aggregate for any subject, catagory, or news you can think of. If you like XYZ, there is a sub for it. In the days of instant gratification and the need to separate the noise from the signal, Reddit is the go to source for many things.
