You can pick up a TT Daytona quite easily. Out of town especially.
As others have said steel is a 4-7 year wait or you just pay double the price from a grey dealer |

I can tell you i am one of the luckiest person on this planet. I have 2 AD's that i have build a long relation with them. My goal was to buy 2 Daytona's for my children. Back in 2007 i have wait for a year to get one and that was a black 116520 and this year after 10 years i get the second one a white 116500LN. But the relation i have with my 2 AD's is so good that i wanted a second white one and in august my AD called me to pick up my third one. This one was for me to wear. But christmas was early this year and the second AD called me and told me that the have one also for my wife.
For the guys that want to ask me the question NO i am not selling i am not a flipper. So wonderwoman build a good relation with your AD and have patience. I have bought a lot from the AD's and also my friends threw me. |

Get the white gold 116519LN if you can afford $28,800.

Hey guys (I assume most of you are guys and apologize if that’s not the case), it’s not that my husband must have it and it’s the only thing he’ll take. It’s just a watch we saw ten years ago and liked and it’s been on the someday list.
I do know that the SS Daytona has always had a waitlist. I’ve actually been offered it three times between 2012 and 2017, but between kids, time off from work, and business school, it wasn’t money I wanted to spend. So, I know for a fact I’ve been able to get off dealer lists in the past without a history even. But now, guys at Lenkersdorfer, L&B, and wempe, whom I’ve bought rolexes from in the past are saying it’s not possible to even put me on a wait list which was surprising to hear. I don’t want to buy in the grey market. I want the paperwork and warranty to be correct. I’m not concerned about authenticity - that’s just sending my watch to Rolex for servicing and having them accept it. Honestly I also don’t feel like feeding that market on principle. And no, I don’t want to buy watches that I don’t want hoping that someone might sell it to me because obviously the folks I’ve bought from have said no dice. I’m not opposed to doing a twofer with an AP for him but ADs that carry both have told me that any AP that I want is boutique only. Anyway, I appreciate all the feedback and will update you in about a year or two if I get one. |

Beautiful Daytona on OF ! Did you get the green Rolex watch pouch at an AD or is it the one form the RSC ?
I'm trying to get one but I can't wait to send my watch to RSC in 10 years lol |

Your best bet is to build relationships with ADs again. Patience is a big virtue with modern Rolex collecting nowadays. |

Just so you know, trusted sellers here are called greys and they have the same stickers, papers and warranty as from an AD, they are just like a middleman passing it on.

What's with all these kids getting Daytonas? I'm not saying I would have turned one down if I had come from a wealthy family, but the whole enjoyment of getting a Rolex (for me at least) is working hard for 20+ years to be in a position to spend my own hard-earned on one.

I would like to buy one from you, either black or white doesn't really matter. I am willing to pay 12000 USD which is more or less the MSRP...

I find this post funny. Someone is offering less than MSRP (presumably less than what was paid) on a watch that you can't get and sells for 1.5x MSRP to a guy who said he is not selling...

OP - you will almost certainly get full paperwork and warranty from a grey. it’s really your only option to get this watch. 1-2 years only possible without strong history unless you willing to drop $$$$ on other pieces.

Time has changed, now even getting a simple basic Submariner can be a challenged. If you have time just sit there patiently waiting for time to change again in the next recession. Good luck. |

OP got the answer she sought, confirming that she wasn't given the runaround. Presumably, she's left the building.

In that case, you may want to consider a mint 116520 rather than the ceramic version, which would be the watch you saw 10 years ago. Market looks to be about 16k for a nice example, (as opposed to unobtainable at an AD and 20k from a gray) and I don't think the value on this piece will go anywhere but up in the coming years. Just something to think about.
