What size is your wrist. This has to be the first time I have ever said go for the smaller of the two but in all honesty it does look great. I’d be interested to see it against a blue face DJ41. I’m wondering if I just don’t like the white dial.

Don't trust up close wrist shots for determining which size watch to buy. Photos like this always make the watch appear larger than it actually looks. Unless you have a tiny wrist go for the 41. If you go 36 you will be wondering "should I..." forever and will wind up flipping down the road. Purists love the 36 but outside of this forum most 36 wearers are women. The 41 is actually <40 mm and is not too large for you. Long term you'll be happier with the 41 IMO.

I'd say the DJ 36.
I may be bias here since I just recently got the same watch for my husband with the exception of the red date. Both look good on your wrist. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

TRF Size Queens will insist on the 41, but the 36 is the better piece.

41. 36 is no longer the size it used to be for a men’s timepiece.

I was at the same crossroads and I purchased that exact 41 model . That being said if I had to do it all over again I would buy the 39mm OP in white !

From the pictures I like the 36 on you. If you like the 41 dial try to find a white 36 and see how that goes.
Neither of these choices are wrong. People can get hung up on men's and women's sizes. There are women larger than me in some dimensions so does that mean I have to wear really large clothes to out do them? Do you buy shirts in large if you're a medium just to be more manly? Look at the size of some women's sunglasses. Are you going even bigger to be the man? Buy what you think fits your wrist best and feels comfortable. We should all be happy Rolex offers such a wide range of sizes for everyone. |

36 suits your wrist better in the pictures. However, I think it's down to purpose, if dressy then 36 if both dressy and casual then 41.

Very simple wrist size will dictate. A 36mm would be way to small for my 8'' wrist

36 is classic, 41 is modern. Which style do you prefer?

I'd say go with the 36mm DJ.
I just got a 36mm TT DJ and I am loving it. I'm about 6.75" wrist and it wears great. |

I have a 7" wrist and wear a 16610 most of the time.
I've had two DJII's (both sold) and a DJ36 (which I gave to my wife). I now have the DJ41 and think it's the one that will last... So, obviously the 41 is my vote

I would choose the 36mm.
The 41mm is just too big.. A datejust is suposed to be something small and classy in my opinion, not a big brick haha.. |

White dials always appears larger than darker colors. How does it feel on your wrist? It doesn't look like the lugs are hanging over. I'd suggest the 41mm unless you know it's too big, but I guess that's why your asking. Happy Choosing. .

I would say the 36mm looks best on your wrist, however go for the 41mm if you like it the best

I have a 36 and for my 6.5” wrist it’s a perfect fit. It does feel small after wearing my sub for a while but I get used to it pretty quickly. I love the dj41 also so I tried one on and while it’s a beautiful watch it felt slightly large for my wrist size. But if it’s the 41 you want, you should get that or you will regret it.

It all depends. Both look good on you, so the choice comes down to what wrist presence you seek, and what roles the watch will be pressed into.
36 is the traditional, and has a very “classic” vibe, but the true story has to go beyond a wrist shot. If you stand 6 feet or taller and have reasonably long arms, I’d argue the 41 is best, especially if you’re seeking a sportier or more all-round role for your DJ. With the larger case, this watch can compete with sport models for wrist presence, and does it with more elegance as an added bonus so you can still rock it with a suit, yet it radiates more attitude when things tone down. If OTOH you see yourself rocking the watch only with suits or for dressier events in general, perhaps then the 36, as it’s slightly greater discretion may be an advantage. It will certainly be slightly more under the radar, if that’s a concern. (Of course, most folks never notice our silly watches anyhow) I’ve had both, plan to stick with the 41. Going beyond a wrist shot—where the 36mm does indeed look very balanced—I find 36mm to leave me desiring a bit more. I like dials to be more dominant against the bracelet, and in that regard, the modern 36mm Datejust is just a bit too demure for my tastes, especially with all the pretty high-polished surfaces of the 6 digit generation. Vintages like 1601s—especially on leather straps—are a different matter as they harken to a different era and look beautiful as retro objects of impeccable taste. |

It’s simply a matter of style. I’m 6’2” 180lbs with long arms, but I prefer 36mm for its more retro/classic look (and comfort.) I’m a guy with longish hair and tattoos who wears jeans, t-shirt and boots just about every day, but if I was a polo and cargo shorts and/or business-casual wearing guy, I might choose differently. It just depends what you’re into.
