Those are some nice clasps for being 5 years old.

work environment and personal habits and dress up makes all the difference in how a watch would look/wear after X many years.

I can't wear a white shirt. Why? the minute I wear it it will get dirty because I lifted something heavy in the garage or office or something to move it or something. I have a friend who can wear a white shirt all week long without a slightest dust on it.

I won't hesitate sticking my arm inside the engine compartment of my car/motorcycle if needed, and that has scratched and dinged my watch(es) more than I care to admit. I used to always yell at myself: 'damn it, act like you are wearing a Rolex for crying out loud. This is not a Seiko!' ... but habits don't go away just because a certain watch is on my wrist.

I am just trying to point out that various lifestyles and general habits play a big role in how a watch ends up looking after a few years.

And don't get me started on my wife's habits!!! Once I caught her wanting to stick her left hand with well over $30k worth of shiny stuff attached to it deep into a sink full of greasy black looking soap at a friend's party as she was helping the host with cleanup.

Took this pic at work under different light condition. More scratches can be seen but not many of them.

In my experience these watches get scratched like any other watch would, but they are by no means scratch magnets. If you are careful you will hardly scratch your watch.

I have seen images of watches that have an absurd amount of scratches after a short time. Either the owners are very careless or they did it on purpose as an excuse to get their watches polished. What they do with their watches is of course their business.

How about your watches? How they look after many years of daily wear?

Looks much better than mine. My LVc looks much worse at 4 years old but it goes everywhere with me. I think most of the scratches are from offshore fishing, but it still looks good when we clean up for dinner.

My TT PCL scratches like crazy but my Explorer II much less because of the steel. I'm on a computer daily though and am pretty sure desk scratches are where they come from.

My Sub looks the same. The only significant scuff is from the edge of a laptop... killer things!

My BLNR is younger than your watches and it is way more scratched. So was my SubC before its recent service.

I work on laptops a lot and wear short sleeves or rolled up shirts. The bracelet and clasp contact solid surfaces often.

On the flipside, I took this pic at my watchmaker right after my E serial GMT (1991) was serviced and I kept it unpolished. The case is in great shape but the clasp has several scratches and I love it. It's not that I hate scratches. I like my watches looking original. If I buy new I'll try to keep them like that, but if they have long history I'll respect.

Looks good. Mine look similar. I'm conscious of my watch when doing things like putting my carry on luggage in an overhead bin of an airplane because I don't care for the beater look.

I don't need to wear a fine mechanical instrument to work in the yard, perform home DIY projects, etc. No issues with those that do. To each their own.

It's in the rotation. Just like shoes, having many watches to alternate will preserve all of them better

This is my one year old LV clasp worn in rotation by both myself and my wife.

Under harsh lighting ( flash), more visible hairline scratches than just looking at it.

I personally never liked to mess with how my Rolex watches came from Switzerland!
Did it once and regretted it!
