If you are buying anything canvas from LV, you need to hurry up. LV is talking limiting canvas items and pushing more leather items.

There is a lady name Mimi treasures and she has an authenticity service for LV items.

LVMH limiting production? Like with Hublot? Making 100 different LE's is not the same thing as actually limiting anything

From what i can tell they are expanding the personalization stuff including canvas, but that also costs more. Mon monogram, Mon Damier Graphite,My LV World Tour. etc.

I think I can see the future:

You have to buy several leather items in order to move up the waitlist for a canvas item. Most buyers will prefer to buy the hard-to-get canvas items over the leather items, even if they are the same price.

i actually like personalization a lot as LV is everywhere and you can make something very common a lot more unique. Plus the fake stuff is almost always the plain pattern not colored stripes with your initials on it or city badges.

.
Maybe less canvas since most of the new mens collection presented under the new designer Virgil Abloh was cheap plastic looking stuff and everything with plastic chains! True LV fans are worried that he is going to cheapen the brand...he grew to popularity along with his buddy Kayne West (the designer part of him) by designing street clothes and sneakers and selling them for a ton of money. From what I have heard and read the feedback on his first collection is not good at all and that likely will impact sales. Time will tell but I doubt LV will abandon canvas products. Reality is the canvas has gotten so expensive that they will likely have issues pushing consumers up yet another notch to leather pricing. Before most luxury item fans will pay that for LV they will jump to Hermes and other high-end leather brands IMHO. The last couple of collections and limited editions done under Kim Jones are selling at big markups on secondary sites.

Quick google search shows some of the items we can anticipate under his new design leadership:

That's some ugly stuff right there..

And they discontinue classics for that. So sad.

Thank you. Sir. Very insightful. I only have one canvas bag from LV. I think you’re they are just going to limit canvas items. I don’t like the new designs in the women’s section is in the same bad place as the men’s collection.
