Do all your watches get equal wrist time?

After I read through these I am thinking I need to shed some watches. I do my best to rotate them but there are three or four that really get the love.

I liked Lee's idea of a spreadsheet! Nicely done.

There’s typically a favorite watch in someone’s collection that gets the most wrist time. You might love all your watches the same, but one always stands out.

Thanks, I was wondering if I'm the only one who's thought of and done it. For the first pass rotation there are 15 to go.

I even found a way to fit this one into the rotation..

Two years ago I consolidated from 6 to 4, and found that to be a good number for me. In the last few months I’ve sold one and bought two... I can’t figure out what else to sell to get back down to 4.

I’ve had a small watch collection for many years, anywhere from 3 to as many as 7 “nice” watches at one time. I tend to wear a watch for several weeks at a time before rotating, so at some point came to my conclusion that 3 watches were a good number for me. My desire then became to have 3 watches that were perfect for me, meaning that I had no favorites and always wanted to wear each one them equally. As many of us are aware I’m sure, accumulating a collection of watches that you want to wear each one equally is difficult, I know for many years and many watches I was not able to accomplish that until this year when I finally got my 3rd “perfect” watch for me.

That small collection consists of:

1. Omega SM300- A really beautiful diver that has a faithful vintage vibe, I love the bracelet (I had the center links brushed). And like the adjustable bracelet and jump hour hand.
2. Rolex BLNR-As close to perfect as a watch can be for me- love the blue and black ceramic bezel the jump hour hand and GMT functions along with the date function, and of course the bracelet.
3. Rolex Daytona C-White- It always feels special to wear this watch, one of the few white dials I’ve owned. The overall look of this watch is beautiful and I always like one chrono in my small collection and of course it has that wonderful bracelet.

I’ve owned many watch brands over the years, IWC, Panerai , Jaeger LeCoultre, Glashutte Original among others, but this is the first time I’ve been satisfied with my collection and not looking to change one out.

Yes, mine all get equal time give or take a few days here and there.

Do all watches get the same wrist time? Not at all. I go through stretches where I would wear my Sub for weeks, then randomly decide to pull out the Explorer II. Then spend a month with the Explorer, with a random Sub day here and there. I can see being faithful to one woman...but I could never be faithful to each of my watches evenly.

Nowadays, I’m spending more time adding “character” to the GMT Master II, but decided to wear the Explorer II for a few hours. Tomorrow...who knows? That reminds me...I need to get the Seamaster out of the safety deposit box!

3 is the magic number IMHO. DD40 on the weekend. Black and Blue dial get split during the week depending on what I wear to work.

I would say my watches get equal time with the exception of my YG Sub that I sometimes leave in Florida. I think it enjoys the sun...

Not really. Some a little more, some a little less. If something is not being worn, though, out it goes...

There is no rhyme or reason to what I wear or when I wear it, it just depends. But I love them all .. lol

I have a collection of 13 watches and tend to gravitate around five pieces: 2 beaters, a diver, a dressy sports and a dress watch. The rest is rarely worn although I still like them very much.

I have expanded and contracted over the years to like 7 now to like 4. However watches never got equal wrist time. May daily wearers have the date function as I need it for my work. My Speedy for weekend use and my Daytona for more special occisions, or when I need a water proof piece. But I do like my smaller collection as the watches I like get more wrist time compared to when I had 7.

My watches don't get the same wrist time, but I am fine with it that way.

There are just watches that look so good that I want to look at them, not necessarily wear then because the occasion to do so rarely arises.

Nope. Completely depends on my mood. Sometimes weeks go by without wearing a particular watch.

I got a g shock a month ago and it's gotten more wrist time than any of my mechanical watches.

I have what would be considered 21 high end watches. Over half of those are Rolex. Only two of those get the most wrist time. A ceramic GMT and a DJ2. I make a point of wearing most of them at some point and they all get wound from time to time. A few are still stickered and have never been worn.
I’ve realised that some of what I have I won’t keep indefinatly, some I will. But collecting these wonderful timepieces has also made me realise what I really like and what I don’t. I’ve also started appreciating certain references that I wouldn’t have given a second look when I started this hobby which now I really appreciate.
In the next few years I expect to have a ‘cull’ of sorts and distill the collection. I certainly won’t be spending the same amount of money I’ve spent to get to this point but I see one maybe two all PM pieces in my future at some point.
So, No, I don’t regularly wear all I possess. For most of my life I’ve been a one watch guy. I hope to return to that one day but keep a couple back to pass down when I’m gone.
