I have been on a bit of a journey myself and tomorrow I am trading 116610LN + $$ for 126600 (SD43), all set up. I will also post pictures on here once I have the watch :)

Surprising move, my friend, but I guess size matters. I had a look at the SD43 and BP FF as a larger Dive watch myself, and went for the BP.

I love the 50th anniversary, especially the red line (of course).

Imagine having the new red line on a ceramic Submariner 😍.

Unfortunately it's too bulky for me, tried it on last week, but my 17cm wrist is just too skinny..

Well if that makes you happy go for it. I know how much you love the LVc so the SD43 must be it. It is funny I purchased my LVc after seeing all your beautiful photo's, I to have thought about the SD43 so let us know what you think after some serious wrist time. Can't wait to see your pics ... Big Congrats!

Very surprising...but understandable! The SD is a beautiful piece! If I had a touch bigger wrist, it’d be added in the collection.
Great choice, congratulations!

I am really floored Mr. Mystro that you have already fallen out of love with the Hulk, which you seemed to convey to the forum that you absolutely loved. That certainly didn't last long! Anyway, enjoy the SD and I hope the honeymoon lasts a bit longer!

Unboxing is always fun.

Awesome. Obviously complete box set.

First thing first. Size the watch and remove the diver extension. Used my Panerai screwdriver and took 5 minutes. I also taped around the links just to be safe on a new watch.

First impressions: Absolute "perfection" in size and proportions. Rolex knocked it out of the park. My goodness is this a stunner. The red line feels like I am wearing a dive watch in a tuxedo. Weight and balance on my wrist is dead nuts on. Feels the same weight but significantly more solid than my Breitling Blackbird LE. Feels a tad heavier than my Sub but not by much. Case thickness is plenty low and matches my Panerai and Breitling. I can easily wear this under winter coat cuffs and even leather jackets. Wrist presence is exactly what I was looking for. My wife thinks its the best looking watch I own so that is always a plus.

It is reasonably warm day and I wanted to get some water pics for the forum so off to the creek and waterfalls to see the SD50th in some wet action porn shots.

Honeymoon effect aside, this could easily be my one and only watch. I can see why its so popular. Cant wait to free dive with this watch. Consider me a Sea-Dweller convert.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!

It really one of those references you have to wear to fully appreciate. FWIW, my wife said the same. And we know they are always right

Congrats on the SD43 mystro, it’s a fantastic reference!!! Just wore mine for my wedding day in 90 degree weather in a suit and no problems whatsoever, with the exception of getting a little hot in the suit

I have to say I’m shocked. You were one of the hulks most vocal fans. Just goes to show you, we are all mad

Enjoy the new one.

Life is a journey with different flavors. I always wanted to own a Sea Dweller and wanted a larger Rolex watch. The Rolex stars aligned with the release of the SD50th so it was time to trade up to the big red.

A couple observations with the dial. It looks gloss in some lights and satin in direct sunlight. I love this depth change it does. I now understand the initial confusion at Baselworld 2017 with the dial discussion we had with exactly what it was. This pic I took shows the dial as gloss as it reflects the hands of the watch well.
