really two completely different watches.

biggest factor imho being size, i am very much a fan of the traditionally sized GMT with the always appreciated lugholes!

however the new model has a meaningfully improved movement and bracelet both of which are appealing.

if you are still regularly wearing your current, i wouldn't sell until after you have had time to wear the new C ... after a few months you can always release either back into the sea.

Keep both. I can't wait to get my hands on the new one but would never get rid of my old ones.

A complete set like yours is only going to go up in value, I would not sell it.

I have both myself. The new is a much finer wearing every day watch but the “vintage” for me is a lot more fun. You will have a difficult time replacing the 16710 in the future if you sell it and miss it. I am saving the 16710 to give to my son for college graduation.

I traded my Z serial GMT for the new ceramic GMT about ten years ago. The new bracelet, larger crown and ceramic bezel won me over. Obviously I would have kept it considering the current market, but it definitely was the “right” move at the time. The value of your 16710 could go up or down; keep it if you will wear it and sell it if you won’t wear it. The new version is “better” and you can sell your 16710 while the market is still hot. I’d get the new GMT and never look back myself but only you can decide.

i hate when people respond to these types of posts with "get both!" but you can own both and not have them be redundant. the 16710 is much more versatile and much more under the radar. it really is a totally different watch. i wouldnt sell the 16710 for a 126710.

A collection is more interesting with 5 and 6 digit, even more interesting if you add 4.

I would prefer the 5 digit 16710, but I don't think you can make a bad choice with either.

Get both OR keep the old one.

They're not making the 16710 anymore, and if the future you want it again, it will be harder and harder to get one.

They're going to be making the 126710 for a long time yet to come.

I wouldn't let the PepC cloud your judgement. It's another GMTIIC. The 16710 is a better watch.

Unless you don’t like the 16710 or it wears “small” bc you have 9 inch wrists, I would under no condition sell it. The PepC will be around for many more years and as others have said it’s just another GMT2c all dressed up.

Great points.

To address the size difference etc, I have a BLNR, ND Sub and a HULK so I know how the 6 digit wear vs 5 digit. I’ve also tried the 126710 on and it wears nicely.

On the value question, I never and won’t pay over RRP and the value (I’m sure) of my 16710 is at least the new MRSP/RRP of a new 126710BLRO, likely even higher.

For argument sake I’d say it would be at least a change with no cost to myself.
That is a pretty nice and very complete 16710 you have there, and if it were me I would think really hard about moving it on. I made that move a few years back and really regretted it, and only managed to offset it by picking another one up very recently. You have tried on the new GMT and you already have some other six digit models, so you know how differently these wear. If you let go of the 16710, then does this make you entire collection six digit? Would moving one of your other six digit models and keeping the 16710 even be an option?

Keep the classic Pepsi 16710.

I’d get a super jubilee bracelet for the 16710 and put the extra $5k saved back in the bank.

Definitely get a jubilee for the 16710. But not super jubilee as the clasp on the 5 digit jubilee is perfectly proportioned not soda pop like the sub and different to the also nice but tank like clasp on the six digit jubilee.

Clasps are too good to hide!

I have and love both but if one it is my 16710 for sure. Also get a 62510H jubilee for that and you’ll never put the oyster back on.

16710. More versatile. Brushed oyster (not happening again) and personally always felt more comfortable to me. Not to mention, these are not made anymore
