I regret not buying a lot more watches about 2 years ago before everything went bananas

I regret selling my first Rolex. A Y serial Sub in 2003. New from the AD. Traded it a few years ago. Big regret.

I agree and really am a one watch guy. Took me a while to realize it. That said, the CHNR is spectacular looking and if I was just going to keep one, that would be it. Everose is just so warm looking.

years ago some jackass convinced me that a proper adult has to have, at a minimum, a work watch and a "weekend watch." Just hearing that was my first hit on the crack pipe.

Let it sit for awhile, it doesn’t sound like you know what you are yet. I know if I had to sell, the CHNR wouldn’t be the one. I adore mine even more than I did my LVc. It’s too beautiful in a upscale sporty way.

Many many moons ago I was shopping for my first Rolex with my mother as a graduation gift. I wanted a car but didn't have my licence yet so they got me the watch instead. I was young and felt kinda self conscious about getting a Rolex as it was considered a bit of an old mans watch at the time (kinda like how Mercedes Benz were considered an old codger's car until the sportier hatchbacks arrived and changed the brand image).

Also this was long before the hipster craze, and interest for sports watches so I decided to go for a subtle, clean elegant Oyster date. The size felt perfect for my skinny wrists and this was before the fad for hockey puck watches. My mother said "I like this one, you should get it" and pointed at the anniversary Sub!

Long story short, I passed on a fat four Kermit for a humble little Oyster date and to this day regret it because of what's happened to the Rolex SS sports market. But then again, if I had got the Kermit, it would hold too much sentimental value for me to flip anyway so I just regret not getting it a a bargain price compared to now.

having multiple watches give you options to dress for appropriate occasions.......you can take your CHNR for travel or a formal watch, and a hulk can act as weekend fun watch or a casual watch to wear everyday.......

i would not sell your CHNR as I like having a watch collection~~~

I was never a one watch guy till I got my LVC.
Although I own a few others, I rarely use them.
It’s been my daily for 1 and a half years now, and no desire to purchase anything else.

I have regretted sold some of my watches and in the end “the watch were sold and the money spent and I have nothing left”. I told myself “buy but don’t sell, unless I trade for something else”. That one watch guy left the building since I joined this forum.

I sometimes think how much simpler life would be if I had stuck with just one nice watch. However, I love the thrill of the chase, and the buzz of the next watch. Also I look at the watches I have and each has its own allure, so I’m unwilling to sell any as yet.

It makes sense to me to have just 1 watch. You do not need to collect to love Rolexes.
In fact, 1 watch where you start a fulltime relationship with would be much cooler in the end, if it experiences your full life from now till death. It has the same memories as you than. Also you can try to make only good memories than but i guess thats just impossible lolss

The LVc is the winner of the two. Nothing wrong with a one or two watch collection. The TT RG GMT is not my favorite and if you are going to move it now is the time. I think the prices will fall like a rock once the newness wears off and the market is full. Why not trade on another watch like a Polar Explorer II and pocket some cash back.

My feeling is one dress and one sport is the way to go, rather than being a one watch guy. I tried to do it with only my Datejust, but it wasn't long before the pull of the professional models got to me!

A Hulk and GMT are very similar, so I don't think you will have regrets losing one. Maybe consider picking up a dress model in its place?

The question is not whether you're going to have regrets, the question is are you really a one watch guy? And if you are, why do you have two watches?

What makes being a 1 watch guy the hardest is when you have to send your baby in for service - that's a very long 6 weeks or more.

Having other watches in your stable will help ease the pain while you wait. Plus, it's just fun to have choices when wearing a watch.

I've had regrets, bought, sold, bought again the ND sub and BLNR. Still have the (second) BLNR. Sold the sub and never looked back. Also sold the LV and every once in a while I wish I had it, but overall I'm OK without it. I regret not waiting a couple of years before selling it so that I could have made a nice profit.

It's all just stuff. Stuff is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. You can always buy more stuff.

Personally, I would not get rid of it. So you have one for nice occasions and one sporty watch. The Lvc is not for every occasion. But to each their own. Good luck on your decision.
