I love the look but the maxi case is too big. I feel like the old 40mm is too small and they overshot the 42mm version. The lug width and length is rediculous.

The only Rolex that does not look like jewelry to me. I like that. It’s my beater along with my black sub.

Yes when I tried on a polar it did rather look like a behemoth, especially in comparison to the 214270.

I bought my Polar last June and my AD just told me hasn't seen one since. Although it's 42mm it sits low and very comfortable on the wrist. The twin lock with smaller crown guards work well with it as I'm sure the triple lock with the larger crown guards as on all other GMTs would of been too much in size for it.

I'm still waiting on my 42mm Polar. First Rolex. Won't be my last.

Be nice to have it for my birthday on December. I may pop into the AD tomorrow.

Love my 16570! I agree with what most people have said about the 216570 which is that the case is quite comfortable and sits low to the wrist. The case is large though... more than anything it was the size of the hands that convinced me to get the 16570. Here’s a comparison shot:

Personally I love the larger hands. I believe the intent of them was to capture more lume? When you are actually out exploring (not sitting in a car) the larger hands are great for at night and complete darkness.

I agree with you that the reason was for better lume. It’s absolutely a needed upgrade for the 16570.

My black bay 36 for comparison

If great lume is what you need then I would advise against the 16570

I really like my Polar EII. Super easy to read under almost any conditions. It's my "beater" and gets a lot of use. Much easier to see than my Batman, which has been a bit of a let down to me.
It fits my 7" wrist just fine.

here's a video of EXII on 6.5 wrist. I don't think it wears big.

I've been heavily considering the Polar. Tried one on and it looked great. But it would mean selling my Milgauss, and I think I may end up regretting that, so I'm going to continue to sleep on it for a while. I generally love the Milgauss, but my only gripe is that it wears a bit top heavy, and after a long day I definitely feel the wrist fatigue.

Conversely, I feel that one of the Exp. II's greatest strengths is its comfort on the wrist. Feel free to share your opinions.

I'm a big fan of the polar and love the orange gmt hand. It wears a little large for me unfortunately..

I’d say the real outcast is the Airking.

The polar 216570 is what got me interested in Rolex . . Finally got one and absolutely love it. Although my 214270 gets more wrist time with an Everest strap for comfort. I think outcast is a stretch of a nickname.

Out of the 20ish Rolex watches I have owned by far my favorite Rolex. What anyone else thinks that’s their view. Wear mine every day. The Subs sit in the safe.

Had several Rolex watches. Also the 16270. Now only have 216570 Polar, and wear it 24/7/365. Can't imagine love any other watch as much as I love my current polar. Its so comfortable, solid and fits to all occasions, even as a dress watch.

I was between this NEW at an AD and a pre-owned "unworn" SubC and I just can't pay the MSRP for the Explorer II.

If I'm paying over 8k the watch should be excellent not better then expected.
