Incoming - First PM - 116519LN 18k WG Daytona
I started collecting watches when I was 10 years old. My first was a “freestyle” digital watch with a Velcro “sharkleash band” similar to the first pic. I had a few of those since the band was just so. The Velcro fit and nothing else drew me away from it for a few years. That watch got me hooked.
Once my lawn mowing business was doing well as a teenager, I purchased my first “real” watch. A red Bezel Swiss army watch for $80.00. That was a lot of money for me back then but it was a great purchase I never regretted. The band was fantastic. A combo of ballistic nylon and leather placed together in all the right places. The Red Bezel popped and contrasted well with the matte grey case. IMO it’s a timeless classic and was the first watch to be launched by Swiss Army. My watch fascination grew to a titanium Chrono.... Fast forward to today and Rolex has been my watch brand the last 10 years. (Breitling was my intro into automatic Swiss watches). I have tried other brands but IMO nothing comes close to the value and craftsmanship. I feel very humbled with the collection I’ve built up recently considering the challenges with sourcing SS models. Thankfully I have a great AD with a long history that goes back a generation. This is my first PM model and I must say the combination of the rubber oysterflex band, Black cerachrom bezel and heft of the white gold case make this a very special looking and feeling piece. I was on the fence between OysterFlex and full WG Bracelet as a few other members threads have discussed. After a day of use I’m happy with my decision. Here are some pics to confirm “it happened” .
