Same here. My AD said they wouldn't even take down my info unless I had previously bought from them. I had to buy stuff first. Then I would qualify (my word, not theirs) to be in line. No thanks. I wasn't in the market for anything else, therefore, I couldn't even get my foot in the door. And from what I have learned since then, the only other AD in my area is playing the bundle game. Again, no thanks. And since I'm on an island, I can't exactly drive out of town/state to find another AD.

It was interesting that the AD sales associate was the very one who mentioned buying outside of normal authorized dealer channels, at a premium, if I really wanted an SS model. This is why I ultimately bought from a trusted seller here.

To me time is important, especially when weighed against a reseller premium that is reasnoable to me. I'm not going buy something that I may or may not want from an AD, just for the priviledge of waiting in line for another 2 years.

This might not apply to you, but certain life events made me reassess why, up until purchasing my watch, I have put off certain things on principle, even if the means are available. In this case, a BLNR isn't astronomically higher than MSRP like a BLRO or SS Daytona. The LVc is creeping up there, but IMHO it's still within reason, as it's harder to get than a BLNR (even the sales associate agreed that an LVc in their inventory is like finding a unicorn).

Take the MSRP of the watch + sales tax and then take that number and subtract it from the grey mkt dealers price. That's your difference :-) The premium I recently paid (yesterday) was just under 2k. I got the 326934 Sky D Black SS.

$2000 or wait an undermined amount of years...

Call it a day, pay the 10% premium and get the watch if you can afford it. If you can spend 10k, I'm sure you can spend 12k...at least we hope :))))))))

There is no real list.

If the AD has multiple salespeople they wont pool all their prospective clients on one central database. Plus they are telling others just like you they are on a list too. Nothing to differentiate you and another buyer, so putting faith on some list is a fool's play.

That being said if you wait until Baselworld 2019 and the GMT II BLNR is discontinued or the movement upgraded it might cost you much more. Furthermore, the likelihood of the price coming down in 3 months baring an economic pull back is small.

From my discussion with 2 ADs this weekend, there is no end in sight with the shortage. Anecdotally this AD forecast is supported because I can see their display cases are bare leading up to the holidays except for Datejusts,

There is really nothing to wait for if you are willing to pay a premium and buy one from a grey.

Is it worth it?

Got lucky on this one! Nearly new other than being no sticker. If i factor in that tax when you buy at ad and tax free on ts then its a good deal
