That’s a result you can live with. Glad it worked out. Now since your license is safe forget the Jeep/4runner you should probably entertain a 911 GT2RS

Seth, how you handled this situation, is what reveals your true character.

Glad it is over, and you can now move forward.

I am glad everything worked out well for you. Once in a while, I to, fight the urge to see what my car can do; I have come to the conclusion that sometimes it’s just enough to know what you have than to show it. I’d say 20 to 30% of the time that I am at a stop light, someone wants to test my 911 Turbo S. It’s fun to just creep off the line, knowing that I had the bigger dog.

I did not see the other thread, but I assume you were caught driving very fast.

The comment I replied to yesterday regarding the GTS, slowing down, and Jeep Wrangler now make more sense.

Congratulations on the favorable outcome.

All I can say is WOW! I am very happy for the outcome you got, but I cannot believe that it was that light.

As the old folks say "Let that be a lesson to you"... LOL!

Glad it worked out in your favor!

Take care as we all make mistakes. Sometimes we get lucky, but we all know it's much better that we don't rely on luck and do the right thing to begin with.

The PD knows everyone!!!

And when you are paying him, they take care of him and help him for various reasons.

My buddy had lunch with a bunch of his lawyer and judge buddies. they all felt I would definitely lose my license. BUT overwhelmingly they stated that he should suggest I hire the PD. He would be my best chance.

And clearly it worked out super.

that seems odd.

how would this be news if he was let go.

and a cop letting a 17 year old at 138 off the hook seems contrary to all the things I have learned this week.

but hey, stranger things have happened.

edit: whoops. I see he got a ticket. I hope he hires the PD. but not sure he is goin to get anything off at 138 and being 17. that's bad.

My guess is he will be taking an Uber here soon, it was around $1800/yr for PLPD on my Tahoe when I was 17 with no tickets. Can’t imagine what a ticket like that would do to the rates. And he is going to get no breaks, plenty are already faulting the Trooper for not impounding his car and handing him a RD ticket.
Also curious what 2012 Chevy he has that was cruising at 138

This is great to read. I had a similar situation a few years back in upstate NY. I also went to court and was very lucky. It's a very stressful situation. Especially having a judge talking to you directly. Let me just tell you that I've not been pulled over since. We live and learn

Good for you Seth. Glad you got off with a relatively ‘inexpensive’ lesson in the end. And it’s a timely reminder to all of us. Be safe everyone!

And I thought it was cats that had 9 lives.

I think the genuine contrition you’ve shown has played a big role in the response here and most likely with the case.

Happy it’s worked out fine for you !
