Same... My BLNR was such a milestone watch. Bought for when I commissioned as an LT, was wearing it when my oldest daughter was born, been around the world and back again... She gets it when she's ready... My second daughter is getting my SubC...

Purchased in July, 1985, Sub 16800. Still have it, still wear it. In 33 yrs. it just had it second service. The cost of the service was greater than the cost of the watch.

The milgauss GV was my first Rolex. I had a great 6 years with it but it hasn’t been worn more than twice in the past year so I sold it to a good friend to make way for a new piece (root beer gmt). The milgauss looks great to me and I love the green crystal but I really need a date wheel as I always forget the date.

Great watch to start with - no doubt. I've never really encountered much information on the Air King Date, do you have any good references to find out more? Thanks

Yep. My first Rolex was the SubC ND I purchased back in early 2016. Still have it and still love it.

No I don’t unfortunately. My first was a PN YG Daytona. Sold it a long time ago. Do miss it every now and then.

Nope, foolishly sold my first (birth year) 16760, No date dial, to fund a few Super Avengers when I graduated university. Obviously kicking myself for that decision now!

Yes 2005 sea dweller
Those days walked in on my lunch hour, didn’t have one in stock, got couriered overnight from a sister branch & walked out next day with the watch. Just under £2.5k |

I've never bought a new Rolex and since I prefer the discontinued references I guess I never will.

+1. My interests seem to lye not in the new... I do have my first ‘new to me’ Rolex though!

First was a 1675 GMT Master purchased at Ben Bridge in 1986. I paid ~$1,400 + tax.
The GMT Master was and probably still is the quintessential pilots watch and I had to have one. Ben Bridge pulled some shenanigans when I bought it but that's another story for another day. :( |

I do still have my original but then again I was late to the Rolex party. My 114060 purchased a little less than 2 years ago.

Many years ago I traded a Gibson Les Paul for a 1987 President. This was my first Rolex. When you are young and into all types of guitars it wasn’t long before it was sold. But it started me looking at other models of Rolex. Now I can’t seem to stop looking and buying. Lol

I got this guy new back in 2012. It gets about 50% wrist time and is a keeper.
