Big Speedy fan here. I’d do the trade, but only if there was no cash involved. Basic Speedmasters are easy to obtain. They are ubiquitous. If you really wanted to do the trade and had to add cash, a couple hundred dollars max.

Hesalite is the traditional material for the crystal . It’s supposed to add a “warmer” look, but it scratches easily. Scratches are easily polished out with a dab of Polywatch but I can’t stand scratches even for a moment. I much prefer sapphire crystal. Sapphire adds about $500 to the price over Hesalite, but to me it’s well worth it.

For a Speedmaster Professional (Hesalite) figure $3300 from a gray dealer or trusted seller. New or like new condition, all the original accoutrements.

Same watch with sapphire crystal, $3800.

The two main watches i wear are tudor bb58 and speedy on nato. Personally since i got my Tudor about 6 months ago the speedy hasnt come out of the box! I find it so much more versatile and find no reason to take off

What you get with the moonwatch is not a homage piece, but an actual icon and the most important chronograph ever made (this is coming from someone who owns a Daytona and Navi as well).

The fellow above that mentions that “down side” of the speedy being hesilite and being hand wound are not really downsides at all. The hesilite provides a warmer appearance and scratches can easily be polished out. Secondly, the hand wound nature in my estimation brings diversity to a collection.
Perfectly stated.

I’d make the swap. Omega gets a lot of flak for the rate at which they update their models, but the Speedmaster Pro is a staple. Omega might update the bracelet or clasp here and there, but the basic watch is going to remain the same. Yes, is has an acrylic crystal, and the mechanical wind movement doesn’t hack, but it’s still a great chronograph.

No way. Save up for the Speedy, they’ll always be around. The Tudor ETA can’t be replaced as easily

Do that trade in a heartbeat, probably looking at USD 500 would be my guess

Not sure I would consider that an even swap, but prices are similar so I think I would probably do it. I'm in the same boat actually. I own an ETA BB and I'm looking to pick up a Moonwatch. Now that I have a GMT I will most likely be parting with the Black Bay. Let me know how it works out

Two pretty different watches. Do you want a Chrono or a diver? Id say both solid watches, the Omega being a bit more "special"

Current new price for Speedy Hesalite is around $3600-3800 NIB from Trusted Sellers here. Consider that value versus your’s. I love my Speedy.

Considering current market conditions this would be a bad trade from a money POV.

Also the Tudor may be worth more in 20 years time due to production run.

I would put the money you were going to pay to purchase a Bracelet for the Tudor..

manual wind is what most collectors ask for

I would save for the omega, it's a great watch

But that Tudor is rare and could be very sought after in the future ... give it some years

Today, it's an even swap.
Tomorrow the Tudor ETA will continue to go up in value as people gradually stop flipping them. Yet the Omega will stay flat in value.

I’d pick the Speedy over the BB, but the Speedy isn’t without its flaws. I find it to be a bit annoying to wind due to its small crown.

I love my Speedy and have never been a fan of the BB. I'll leave speculation about future prices to others (which is a pretty iffy game), and suggest you just go with the watch you want.

Yes, in a heartbeat. While I love the BB, it's not the iconic Speedy Pro.

Love my Speedy.

Sapphire is not the only difference to the plexy version. It has much nicer finish you can see from the watch's back.

Pretty much what I was going to write. The Tudor eta isn’t demanding that much of a premium these days and if you don’t wear it, and it’s a speedie you crave (great watch btw, then it’s worth the trade. Unless of course you don’t need the cash and you can put away the Tudor for the next 20 years in a gamble that it skyrockets in value.
