In my current family we have a Notre Dame, Dawg, FSU, Auburn, Gator, LSU, and Texas fan(s) all living under one roof. This year was a hoot. You made a very good choice with the TT Blue SUB.

Great gift, Jen. I bought my Dad and I Blue TT Subs a few Christmas' ago. Like your Pop, mine would never have purchased it himself, but I know he absolutely loves it (we posted a pic of us here wearing "the twins" on Thanksgiving). Take my advice and treat yourself to one at the same time!

Cheers,

Chris

How wonderful! For once, I'm putting dad before me, and using my watch fund money for him. It's a drop in the bucket after all he's done for me, but it's a great feeling

Jen,

Grats! And what a wonderful gesture!
I too, would like to buy a watch for my parent, mine is for my mom.

BTW, Buz is a class act, he is super nice and I'm sure your transaction will be smoother than baby's skin.

It's actually going to be for my dad. I was inspired by yesterday's story I remember my dad taking me to Mayor's when I was small just so he could try on that watch. He's worked hard his whole life and won't buy himself nice things sooooo.... luckily he has a nice daughter! And his birthday is in March, so maybe it can have some wrist time with me first
You are a wonderful daughter.

I have purchased five Rolexes and that was the best purchase. Way to go!!!
That's a great story.

That's great.
I wish my dad is around and I can do that for him. He only bought one watch for himself and it was an enicar about 50 yr old now.
Love that bluesy.

That's so sweet of you! I'm excited for you. Don't forget to take (or have someone else) photos of your Dad when he receives it. I bought my dad his first (and only) Rolex three years ago and my mom told me he wore it to sleep that night... haha. Later on he kept protesting due to the price, but I told him it wasn't returnable to the AD because I had his name engraved on the back. So that settled him into keeping it. I was so glad that I got it for him though because just a few months later he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Ijen0311:
What a nice thing of you thinking of such a great present for your Dad.
I´m surely he will apreciate it so much, and will get very moved at receiving it.
How nice to hear this! Both you and your dad will remember this next birthday forever, and he will treasure that Rolex as his most precious possesion.

ERose: I was also moved by your comment. Anyway I regret about your Dad´s illness.

I´m 60 now, and my Dad is gone since 1999, but still miss him a lot.
But treasure to remember him well. I also presented him with a Rolex watch in the 1980´s, a Datejust with champagne dial, roman numerals, and jubillee band, which I later inherited from him.

Nice to hear these nice moving stories!! Best cordial regards, Abel

Thats Great!

I did the same thing for my pop a while back(2001) and he wears the watch every day. when someone asks him about it. he pauses and proudly says,

"my son bought it for me"

lots of luck to you and your dad

I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself until March. I would have gone to see him immediately and given it to him
