I tried on both the 5 and 6 digit at Howard Frum and def prefer the 6 digit! Now to find one from 2015-2016 in good condition...

It’s the best “one watch” you can get from Rolex IMHO. I happily had a 116710ln as my only watch for many years.

Just personal preference but I found that I didn’t really like the metallic looking aluminum bezel. I like the matte aluminum bezel of the BBGMT better.

So I like the 16710 for its 120 click bezel, ability to swap dials, straps look better on it but I find it looks a bit demure compared to current Rolex GMT references.

I like the 116710 bc the ceramic bezel, wider lugs, and PCL makes more of a statement but I don’t know how much not being able to time things accurately will bother me.

Do y’all have any thoughts or opinions on my predicament?

I believe you meant "bezel inserts" not "dials."

I like the build of the six digit and the size of the five digit. That means neither for me.

The 5 and 6 digits are pretty common and easy to get pre-owned - its just about finding one that fits the parameters Im looking for. I am definitely not going to try to find a NOS 5 digit and dont have a year to wait for a new one from an AD

Both are great watch. Cant go wrong with either one. But i can tell you are leaning towards 116710, so go with your heart with no regrets ;)
