It's a great watch! I just got the exact same one a few days ago. I love the new case design and inner bezel with the "Rolex" name and serial number. I traded in an older(mid 80's) black dial plus a few bucks for mine, and couldn't be happier with it. Unfortunately for my other watches, they may collect a little dust for awhile. I know you will enjoy your new watch, and if you're like me, hardly ever take it off!

My first Rolex too!!
I would first like to say that I love this forum, I having been reading the wonderful stories of people getting their first Rolex and I would like to share mine. I have been in the Army 20 years now and I am finally at a place where I can afford to buy one. I looked on the internet at pre-owned Rolex’s, which there are many websites. I told my best friend in the world I was looking at Rolex’s he told me he might be able to help. His family and my family have worn Rolex’s for as long as I can remember. There is a AD (Authorized Dealer) there in Tyler,TX. So Wynne, my friend said he would go by the Dealer’s business and have a look. I told him I was looking for a Datejust because a Day-Date was a little out of my price range. Wynne told me he had a Datejust that to him looked brand new. The dealer told him I could pick out any Rolex face and he would send it to a jeweler to install the diamonds that I wanted. I decided on a mother of pearl face that I had seen on one of the sites. Wynne also told me he had a bezel he had taken off his watch many years ago and at first would make me a good deal then decide since it was Christmas he would give it to me (Merry Christmas)! The dealer put the watch together and Wynne shipped it over here to Japan to me. I got it last week and boy what a beautiful watch! I looked up the serial numbers and it was made in Denmark in 1990. It was originally a champagne face and jubilee band and sold for $5777.00. I tried to post the pictures but I guess they are to big.
Here is a link to the pictures on flickr, Hope you can see it, I am never gonna take this thing off. http://flickr.com/photos/macdaddy122...7612787752404/ |

Congratulations on your very attractive watch and welcome to the forum. I noticed you're from Louisiana. Any vampire sitings? Are you near Shrevesport, home of "Fangtasia?" lol
Lots of luck, hope you like it here! |
