yes. I know where i can get one tomorrow. At this point I'm sticking with my AD as this is the only anomaly i have had with getting a watch. I find it more weird than anything.... its a PM watch and I've been waiting a year

they felt so bad they offered me a SS daytona instead

Makes sense hope they source yours soon it's gorgeous. Wish I got such "poor" service from my AD

I can tell you that I owned the white 116500 for about 8 months and I thought it was the bee's knees. But every time I saw a 116519LN, I would have my eyes on it thinking "damn I wish I had that one".

Now that I have the 116519LN in hand, I don't miss the 116500 at all. It really is a step up. If it was MSRP vs MSRP, I might have thought differently, but when I compared what I got for my 16 month old white 116500 on the grey market vs my out the door price on a BNIB 116519LN from an AD, it was a no brainer.

You might think differently though if you're not a fan of rubber straps on high end watches. I'm perfectly okay with it, having owned 2 Aquanauts before. Rolex's Oysterflex system is truly a cut above all the other rubber straps out there.

Love rubber straps, currently have a 5164a, which is the most comfortable ever

Agreed. Not to mention how the WG looks colour-wise when compared to SS. It's so much warmer and there's a slight copper undertone when looked at under certain light conditions.

It just glistens in the sunlight unlike the 116500. Add that to the subtle and warm tones of the WG case, it's a definite winner. It's the little details and added complexity which put it in a different league compared to the SS 116500.

To me, trading SS for gold is a no brainer. With the crazy prices of SS, trading for gold is a great choice.

Personally, i say NO only because the 116519LN Daytona does not come with metal bracelet, which you can easily change to rubber as you can now with the SS version. Again, jmho YMMV

Sell White DaytonaC for 116519LN?

$20k SS market value for $28.8k list ($26k min market value) WG —— Heck Yeah!!!

Whomever wants to do this deal with you (assuming straight trade) doesn’t know the relative values of these two references)

both look like amazing pieces but I think the rubber is a considerable downgrade in the looks department. I would keep the SS. Can't go wrong either way, though.

I have a 116500LN and I would trade up for a 116519LN in a heartbeat if the deal was right.

Then again.... I fear if I start this trading-up lark that it might never end.

The biggest question is if you like the rubber strap, as if you really do/don't then that alone would be a good enough reason to do it/not do it.

Depends on what other watches you have.

I picked up a 519 with the expectation that it would coexist with my 500 black dial, as they are quite different watches. However, the 500 stopped getting any wrist time and as such, has since been sold to a good friend.

In my view, the 519 is the best looking watch that Rolex have ever produced (beauty is of course subjective) - and the only one that would beat it is a Platona if they brought that out on O/F.

So, it is ‘almost’ a no-brainier as far as I’m concerned.

But...it’s only ‘almost’ because if I could only have one watch, it would be the 500 given its additional versatility.

Good points, and agreed, probably no need to keep the 500

That 519 is a special watch, but definitely try one on before going forward.

Just to clarify. I already have owned both together and mistakenly sold the 6519. I guess the real issue is convincing me I wont miss the 6500, as I already know it probably wont get wrist time.

If you aren’t wearing the 116500 and are going to wear 116519 then this is a no brainer. Get the 116519.

On the dials I am right in between, I like the crisp white of the SS, esp against the SS rather than the similar steel dial, but the Panda dial of the WG, wish there was a true Panda... maybe comes finally on a Plat, then we make the Plat ice blue Subc.

I have both and of pressed would choose to keep the WD SS.

- Oysterflex less comfortable than SS on me.
- SS is a classic
- you can dress up and dress down the SS. WG harder to dress up.
- SS more durable.
