I just wear mine in the shower from time to time. I know it's not perfect, but hey, neither am I.

I have a toothbrush for sensitive teeth (softer bristles) and I use a bit of dish soap and brush lightly. Then a microfiber towel until dry.

Also - Dyim gives a PERFECT spot of advice...

Steamer Question

Can you use the steamer on the watch head or should it be limited to the bracelet?

And same question for Scrubbing Bubbles.

Thanks.

A few years back I went swimming with my SOH II. I didn't realize the crown was open and off to Breitling it went. Expensive mistake.

Thanks for all the great responses (and the sarcastic ones too)! I always assumed any type of soap would leave some residue.

And what are scrubbing bubbles?

Ive always used filtered water for the rinse and a fine microfiber cloth to gently pat dry the watch.

Johnson's baby shampoo, soft bristle toothbrush final rinse with distilled water. I clean it as often as I feel the need.

Ivory bar soap. Get in shower with it on your wrist. Lather up good. Use tooth brush liberally,. Ivory rises off CLEAN. Done. It looks fabulous.

like many of the other owners, i give mine a wash down with regular hand soap and warm water. lather it up good and should get most of the gunk off & from in between the links. its amazing how just some soap / water will make it look like new again.

dry it / wipe it down with an eye glass cloth

Been using this over twenty years. I give every watch a scrub before wearing them. Never had an issue

Is it safe to put the whole watch in to a sonic cleaner?

I've seen advertisements that show complete watches in the cleaner and had assumed a Rolex would be capable of withstanding the process.

i was just reading a thread which indicated that some jewellers do this. apparently (and i am paraphrasing directeng here), retail sonic cleaners are low watt and won't compromise a seal in good condition. low watt was defined as 30-60 watt. it would be great if you could do this because i won't take a bracelet off (it is not easy to do in my opinion). but i don't see how it could be great for the watch.

Would the same cleaning rules apply on two tone watches?

No it is not as has been mentioned in this thread already, just the bracelet. If you put the head in the Oil used on the bearing surfaces within the watch will be dispersed and not stay where it supposed to. This will accelerate your service intervals when the watch stops working correctly.

I use Dawn liquid soap, warm water and soft bristle toothbrush. I then use micro fiber towel and blow dry with a hair dryer. Works well.

The Sub I take into the shower. The others just a little soap and warm water in the sink. Every now and then I use Veraet, and it really does give them a nice shine.

I use a soft toothbrush, but only on the inside of the bracelets. Pat dry with microfiber cloths.
