What would you buy??

I would buy a CHNR i think, but i have been eyeballing a 116503 last days with a black dial and considering you can pick one up with 15% if Lucky it would be okeish i suppose.. Or perhaps a discounted YM blue dial

Explorer II or SS Sky-Dweller.

Even so the resale is now pushing 25K so no chance in hell of this at an ADs unless you major bundle.

CHNR for me for a Rolex or a Lange Saxonia or 1815 Up/down.

I think if I had $15K to throw away on a toy, it would be a high mileage Porsche Cayman S.

Oh, this is a watch forum.

Wait a bit longer and get something in the $20k range which opens you up to a lot more. At $20k I'm looking AP.

I’d get a minty full set 16600 and a late 80’s tritium 3590.50...the perfect 2 watch combo IMO...and probably still have a few bucks left

I would get a quality luxury watch providing all those functions and costing about half the price.

Hm, i do not want an AP, i want to stay in the Rolex range and to be honest, i can spend more but i do not ''want'' to spend more...… The problem is that the cool models, BLRO,BLNR are only available with a huge premium now i like the CHNR a lot but it is to new to aquire it now i want to see first what is happening with prices………….. I really like the CHNR more than a AP for example, and also more than a aquanaut, if i wanted to spend this amount of money.. I do like the tt daytona sort of, but if i would buy it, i must have at least 20% off to keep the depreciation under control. I am oke to buy, and i can buy.. I have the money, and i can use the money however i am not in the position to play very wild with this money, so that i loose 50% or so, maybe i am in the position, but i do not want to do this kind of stupid stuff anymore;) I do not buy a piece as a investment, but i want them to loose not significant money in a period, so say -500 i am oke with, but it would be nice if it would keep ''stable'' over time if you know what i'm saying.. It is really shitty that i just can't find a blnr, blro and chnr together so easy to fit and choose from there) I absolutely am against any form of premium being payed..

From Rolex? Probably a Milgauss and 5-digit Sub, or for one piece a nice Kermit.

Welp I just bought my SD so I can say pretty confidently that would probably be it.

I'm not sure what MSRP is but I think you could probably get the new tourbillon TAG for that.

If I had to add a second Rolex, I think a Daytona technically fits under that price point.

I'd likely spend the $15k on an extended trip to Paris or Kauai, Maui, Oahu, or the Big Island with my family. I really love watches, but they don't hold a candle to memories. If I needed to spend it on a watch, I'd pick up a SD43.

Well said, personally i feel it is a waste of money to spend 15k on a trip to Paris, i live 300km from there so that makes sense, maybe Antarctica than.. But i guess you are right somehow

If you're willing to pay 15k for a watch, then it should be one that you really like. If you really like the watch, you shouldn't be as concerned about the depreciation. I can appreciate that you want to make sure you're spending good money on something that will "retain" its value, but at this price point the potential depreciation should not be guiding your decision.

I think the CHNR TT is a beautiful watch. Given how recent of a release it is, I can't imagine you getting any kind of discount on it even if it's TT. I don't think that will always be the case...but you need to ask yourself how bad do you want it? You could pay retail today to enjoy it and forget about it losing a bit of value (relative to what you paid for it) down the road. Or you can wait it out hoping that the price becomes more flexible some time in the future (uncertainty). Is the potential, incremental savings by going with the latter option really worth it? If you answer yes, my guess is you don't really want the watch that bad. Btw - my logic here only applies to paying retail for the watch.
