RO looks blocky and unfinished to me. I much prefer the look and size of the Daytona!!! Last thing I need is a 41mm large wearing watch!!!

And those are my guilty pleasure. I love the second and third gen overseas. Congratulations, stunning piece!

I own both the Daytona and this 2nd gen Vacheron. I like the Vacheron far more.

This would be my choice too if I had the wrist for it.

If you could have one regardless of price which one would you choose?

I think they are both workhorse chronos that you can wear everyday with the Grey Market bringing them near the same price point anyway.

All the best.
To me, it’s a tough call as the AP is more ledigble, but don’t like the design at all. Given I wear my watches doing everything, I can’t stomach the idea of a watch that pretends to be a sport watch but can take the punishment of any actual sports. Experts on AP can correct me, but other than finishing the Daytona movement is as accurate, and certainly more robust? If you plan to wear the AP at the office, I give the edge to the AP on ledigibility grounds.

I picked the Daytona for a chronograph and a 15300 for a RO.

In terms of looks, I like the AP more.
In terms of durability, I like the Daytona more, Rolex's warranty is better than AP's.
In terms of value/money, I would get the Daytona now because I think the AP will go down in the future more than the Daytona.

They both have 5 year warranties.

Do you mean that the Rolex steel is more impervious to scratches ?

The finishing of the RO does of course make a difference on how noticeable they may be (depending on where they are) but didn’t think there was much difference between steel varieties in terms of actual scratch resistance.

I would say in terms of the bezel, the AP gets a new nick every time you accidentally tag it on something, you can only polish AP bezels 3-4 times before you need an entire new one. The Rolex bezel? That will hold up much much longer, especially with ceramic. Durability: Rolex wins, Design: Daytona is iconic!
