Great move. I was never a fan of the Daytona until I tried one on. All I can say is wow! Awesome watch.
How old is your Dylan? Mine is 16. Time flies!

And welcome Dylan to the SS Daytona White Dial Club.
It's his uncle Eddie's favourite.

Good move Daren. I knew you would get a SS Daytona some day. It's one of the most comfy watches that I have ever owned. And it's one sharp looking watch. I am on my 4th :)

Great move Daren. Dylan's a great looking kid and he'll look even better down the road with the Daytona on his wrist. Enjoy it yourself until that time comes.

Congrats on the Daytona! I know how you feel, my son knows that he will inherit my collection and is already telling which watches to buy...he is 9!

I read you loud and clear and think that is great. Maybe I should rephrase to say, "glad that a Rolex could be part of your excitement"

Daren: What a great heirloom for your son. I applaud what you're doing.
PLEASE be sure to have the watch hand engraved and not machine engraved. Something of this nature deserves the best engraving and not yucky machine engraving. If you would like to contact me I'll be happy to offer advice on the subject. |

At your age that is illegal in 49 states. Daren, nice gesture for your son and a very nice watch. As with your son doing karata, anything that a parent can do with their child is just awesome! I like my Daytona for two reasons; first, the wife gave it to me as a Christmas gift and second, it, along with the Explorer II, does not look like the typical Rolex. |

What a beautiful gesture, Daren! And a watch I hope you will enjoy to the fullest in the meantime.
Your son looks like a true gem. I'm sure he'll be very excited to receive the Daytona one day.

Simply wonderful buddy. There's always something special about building a history with a watch. What you've done goes way beyond that.
Your son will not only have a watch his Dad wore and all the memories both you and he will have of that, but he will have an heirloom piece that no one can ever put a price on. If the term treasure ever fit a watch you now have it. |

Thanks guys, thank you very much!
The watch is getting hand engraved, same guy that did my DateJust when my old boss gifted it to me. Should land middle of next week since I'm traveling at the start of the week. I can promise when it lands I will post a few pics. Thanks again, TRF spirit never ceases to amaze me. D

DMAN, that is awesome. I took my son to my AD last weekend. He thought it was very cool. Need to get him "more" into my crazy hobby.
Here is the trouble. Tonight we were at the AD (too much time at AD) this time with my wife. I was wearing the 177 - but, wife was wearing the White Daytona. I have never worn it. She has essentially conficated it... The AD noticed and said - I'll bet you didn't know that you were actually buying that for her... I am very glad to know that my son will inherit these treasures that I love so much. I wish I could have something like a watch from my father. Best to you and that great looking young DMAN!
