I bet a competent watchmaker can fix that with no problem. Look at what ABC Watchwerks was able to do with my clasp.I think the guys are now at LA Watchworks.

I'd leave it alone, at least for a week or two. If it bothers you after a couple weeks then get it polished. Life it too short, if something bothers you that much and you can't shake it off then fix it.

Get the clasp polished. It’s going to bother you if you don’t.

Wear it and accumulate more scratches and when time for service they can grind down the metal for you. Don’t waste gold too much “sarcasm”.

The first one is the hardest! I banged my basically unworn sub into the equipment racks at work the first day I wore it there. It has since acquired other marks. I don't even know where they come from anymore.
I'd give it 6 months. If it still bugs you then take care of it. |

It can be removed but it’s deeper than what you should try to do at home. Let a pro do it right.

It is on a part of the watch that neither you nor anyone else will see during normal wear. I would give it a good six months and then see how you feel about it. If it still bothers you then, have a watchmaker or RSC take a look at it.

Let it stay a month or 2. See how you feel about it then. My experience is if I have a bad one and I get it polished out, another one magically appears!!! I’d be chasing scratches all the time if I worried about it.
If it’s deep, no sense in chasing it. My TT have always looked very scratched, hazy, on the polished clasp. I don’t think you’ll notice it remember it in a year. YMMV.

I’d wait it out. A few more scratches and it’ll blend right in.

It’s there already, why take some gold off?

PCL - I wished Rolex would provide an option for non PCL for GMTs. The PCLs are annoying - I don’t see any value for them. Do people really prefer PCLs? Or just accept it because Rolex said so?

I bought a new Rolex (1st) two nights ago. I had it on 5 minutes and smashed it on a mirror. Then 30 seconds later I wiped my counter top and my hand slipped and I hit the clasp on the counter and dented it. I was very upset. Literally 5 minutes.
Question: I am new here, but, can we not have the clasp replaced? I would love one to wear and tear and another to replace when I wanted a new look? |

They wanted to make it look different than a Submariner. This is even more evidenced by the new BLNR on Jubilee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You need to take off your watch off when working around hard surfaces. I even walk with my left arm in front of my chest to avoid dinging my watch against hand rails, watches, door ways, etc.

I would use the Glidelock bracelet for any SS Rolex watch models - it is the best looking and fits perfectly. GMTs, Explorers, Daytona, Milgauss, etc.

Definitely get it fixed immediately, like tomorrow.
You'll feel much better, I know I would.

PS: I recently replaced my Sub 114060 with a Deepsea 126660. Along with this I also purchased a PPF protective film for the entire watch from watch-shells. Worth every penny to keep from scratching your new watch.
One thing I'll note is that if anyone does buy these protectors, I had much better success applying the film dry, rather than wetting it.

You used to work in the field all the time. You put in your time, worked hard, and moved into a position to manage the company. The watch symbolizes all the success and hard work. The scratch reminds you of the hard work you put in and keeps you connected to field work. You're not just some jerk manager who forgot about his roots in the field. Even as a a successful company manager with a Rolex, you can get out into the field with the boys to pitch in and get your hands dirty. That is something to be proud of! |

I look at it like this. That scratch will forever remind you of the day you went into the field to help out and snagged it on a piece of sheet metal. Again, definitely get it fixed.
