Thank you for sharing your story, great pictures and valuable info. Remember the days of growing up in Italy and visiting Switzerland on a monthly basis, definitely a wonderful place to visit and shop for watches

Thank you for the information. Great post.
So after you pay a customs tax, are you still ahead or even? How much are custom taxes? Is there a threshold to pay or is it on any dollar amount? I’ve read and heard so many different things not sure what it is. Anyone please chime in. Trying to see if it’s worth it or not. Also, looks like the UK is your best bet if you want to go shopping for a watch due to the lower pound. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have heard various stories too. My experience from buying watches in usvi was 3% over your duty allowance. $800 per family member and $1600 for usvi. Coming from eu would be $800 duty free then add your duty if custom agent even wants to deal with it. |

I tried the same at Manchester airport in the UK last week , there they had an agent Travelex taking care of it .
I had the VAT form already filled in and a stamp envelope addressed to the AD but Travelex told me that they must take it and I have still not received the VAT refund , is this normal ? |

That's not the answer I was hoping for
I told them 3 times that all I needed was a stamp and ill send it back to the dealer myself , they insisted that they take it which I have a feeling was because they must get some kind of commission for every claim |
