Really is an impressive watch.
Those that say that it’s hard to read should get an eye test done. Seriously.

I’ve worn mine everyday since I got it last week. The white Daytona C is a special watch!

yep a Daytona is a MUST have in any watch collectors....just an iconic watch...

There is a reason why the most expensive watch belongs to Rolex Daytona at 18 mil :)

It’s my absolute favorite in my small collection. Going on two years, and I still love it.

I wasn't a fan of the daytona before but it has definitely grown on me over time. Similar to the royal oak - first time I saw it I didn't think it was anything special. But over time I definitely think watches have the ability to grow / appeal to us more and more

While we are on the subject of loving the Daytona...

I’m sure I’ll get shot down for this as so many seem to idolise it, but as a newbie I have to ask because I’ve been wondering for a while.

Why is it that so many people have the Daytona as their “grail”?
Is it the history, the looks, the function?

It just doesn’t appeal to me in any way so just curious...

Thanks!

I used to think that until I got mine. It was just my way of telling myself I don’t really want it. Now I look at it in the context of all the other watches I have...the 116500 LN in white dial is just absolutely stunning. It is one of two pieces I’d keep above all.
Congrats, OP!

Spoke with a self proclaimed watch collector complaining about the very same. Turns out he’s just old and needs reading glasses.

Regardless of the answers you might get - I would submit that most desire for the modern Daytona is because of the hype and perceived ‘exclusivity’ and nothing more.

And what happens is people get them - after waiting, and waiting or paying big $$ and are underwhelmed - and that’s why we see some many on the grey mkt for $$$.

I enjoy and have continued to enjoy my Daytonas over the years - but there are SEVERAL watches that I like better.

Just my .02

Do you think there are more 116500 LN’s (not just Daytona’s) in the second hand market than any other models? Even if so, there’s an imbalance of supply and demand, because it wouldn’t be trading with this level of markups otherwise.
As for hype...let’s be honest, there are plenty of other watch models just as hyped, if not more.
For me it doesn’t matter because I’d never sell mine, but

Favorite watch of mine (even with a Seadweller 4000 which gets some weekend time).
Main watch I wear daily as I think it goes great with a suit and even more so now the weather is getting better as the white dial/PCL glint in the sun.

For me, if it was any bigger I would have never bought it. Perfect size IMO.

Really nice wtach - just a real pity that Rolex have made it so difficult to get with all the resultant drama!
