I would say don't wear any of them if you are unfamiliar with the areas. You don't want to make yourself a target for criminals.

Is the GMT waterproof? Do you have any need for its complication? If the answers aren't determinative for this one, flip a coin.

Anything is fine for exploring the Caribbean as a tourist. Mostly you'll be in resort-style destinations, on the beach, on a tour bus, with affiliated taxi/drivers, etc. You'll be safe in those places.
It's when you're going for a week and really plan on getting into the culture and local areas that you run the risk of sticking out and becoming a target. I've been on over 20 cruises and have never felt unsafe in the Caribbean. But if I were going on a solo trip to Jamaica and staying at a small local hotel I would leave the Rolex watches at home.

The Hulk. A lot of fun to wear and the dial is amazing.

In the Caribbean, don't take anything that will make someone think about ending your life to advance theirs.......I lived in the Bahamas in the 90s. Your life is not very important to them....your watch is.

I have the same choice facing me, I'm going to Italy in 3 weeks and I have to choose between the SD43 or the Explorer.
I believe I'm leaning towards the Explorer as it is more under the radar. |

These “which of my $10,000 watches should I take on my $10,000 vacation to the 3rd world” might be part of what motivates the terrorists.
Honestly. Get over yourself. |

Not true, do not fear monger someone. Cruise safes usually only can be opened by a supervisor or the hotel manager. If you have a problem with the safe they will not touch it without you in the cabin and make you sign a work order they were there for the safe. There are cameras in every hallway on a cruise, if there was a theft they could go back and identify who it was as soon as it was reported. If there is even an accusation of theft against a crew member they are dumped off at the next port. It’s not worth the risk for them, who are mostly from other counties making very good money compared to their home country, to risk that sort for short sidedness.

Breitling Emergency. It has a built in PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) built into the watch, just in case you take a dive off the fantail of the ship, and then change your mind.

Anyone who is recommending traveling to La Perla is crazy. Don't listen to them.
Better to be safe than sorry. |
